Ushguli (in the Svaneti region in northwestern Georgia) is a community of four villages, and claims to be the highest permanently inhabited settlement in Europe.

Ushguli is inhabited by an ethnic group called the Svans and is characterised by its Svan towers - used as familial living quarters, fortified fortresses of defense, and personal treasuries.

"The stay was good. The guesthouse a little bit far from the center but the town is really small. The really big bonus was that the owner knew english!"

"Super convenient location in Mestia - walkable to restaurants and attractions. Very clean room (with a view!) and helpful staff. "

"This send like a new hotel. The property seems newly built, but some minor details are missing. For example, there's room for a TV but no TV. There's no sign on the hotel or from the street to the hotel. The staff are helpful and go out of their way to assist. It's within walking distance to the village center. Breakfast was nice and the balcony on the top floor really nice to sit at."
