I felt very safe, the doors are heavy duty and there's a chain and door knob lock. The other guests were friendly as well as the staff. The bedding was immaculate as usual. straightforward, easy checking. You have to pay for parking but reasonably priced.
A clean hostel facility. Its inside UBC campus. Dorm rooms turned into hostel facility for the guests. There's no air conditioning in the rooms, but toilets, showers and rooms are generally clean.
the place was overall what you would expect! it’s basically just a university dorm converted into a hotel room, the room is pretty big in of itself you get towels and small shampoo, soap, and, conditioners. you get two pillows and the comforter. there is a lot of room to store your stuff around as well. though there is no ac which is stated i found that the room didn’t get that hot. the location is not bad as well, its about 10ish min walk to the bus stop and there is a little grocery store nearby that’s open. lots of stuff to see around the campus, and the dorms are a very close but steep walk down to wreak beach! pretty good stay two nights!

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were clean. The bathroom had 4 showers but 2 of them had disgusting black stuff covering the floors. Didnt go in to investigate further. The kitchen was well equipt and clean. The laundry was well maintained and clean.
The only downside was our room smelt of stale urine.
The place was quite decent for the price and the surrounding area very quiet in the summer. Not only it was the most affordable I could find but with the short time I had to book they still had rooms available.
The room overall was quite clean, no issues there. My main thing was that the main stairs smelled like urine. Also, the shower stalls could use at least one more hook to put towel and other items while one is showering.
Staff were very friendly and quite helpful.
The only problem was the wifi did not work on the first night. The staff did not know how to remedy the problem. Every other aspect of the place was fine. I was pleased to find that a large heater had been installed at the end of the hall. During previous stays, there had been no heat and cold air came in from the ocean.
UBC has brilliantly double functioned its dorms as a hostel in summertime with fairly reasonable rates, cost of parking could have been a little less.. The students were just graduating when I stayed and still it was remarkably quiet! It was lovely to see that a towel and toiletries were provided. The coffee in the morning was a nice touch and the bed was comfortable. The cleanliness blew me away, I'm a janitor by trade and of course notice when lodging is not cleaned properly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. it would have been nice if there were a couple more hooks for items in the shared shower areas. The paper towel dispenser may have been due to be replaced but very small things.
