  • Newly constructed, custom waterfront home: 4 bed, 2.5 bath, sleeps maximum of 15 based on sleeping arrangements, two car garage, washer and dryer, personal 30 foot beach, private dock with lift, a boat ramp directly across the bay, and free Wifi!

    Welcome to The Fox Den, a waterfront property overlooking Ventura Bay and Clear Lake. The Fox Den got its name from the the original 1940's cabin that sat on this property and the baby fox that lived under this front porch when we purchased the property. While staying here, you will enjoy the beautifully wooded, quaint atmosphere of Ventura Heights, while just minutes away from Clear Lake's local shops and down town, lake-life atmosphere. Whether you're here to fish, enjoy water sports, walking the trails, or just spending time relaxing with family, this home is sure meet all of your needs!

    Bringing the kids, no problem! We have a pack'n play, convertible booster seat/highchair, extra bibs, and extra wipes (we've all been there!) Forgot something? We hope to have extras of most things you'll need during your stay. There are folding chairs, life jackets, etc. in the lower level storage closet.

    There is a 2 Stall Garage with 2 car driveway. There is a public access on one side of the property that is available for additional daytime parking.

    MAIN FLOOR: Zero entry from garage to main floor. This floor consists of a powder bathroom, kitchen, great room (with a sleeper sofa), TV, and deck overlooking the lake.

    2ND FLOOR LOFT: Enjoy a view from the 2nd floor balcony that overlooks the main level and a full wall of windows looking directly out to the lake. This floor has a full bathroom with a double-sink vanity and shower. One of the bedrooms on this floor includes a full over full bunk bed with a twin trundle bed underneath, sleeping up to 5. The other two bedrooms each include a queen bed overlooking a picturesque wooded area.

    LOWER LEVEL: The lower level consists of a living area with a queen pull out sofa, a TV, and a spacious patio overlooking the lake. This floor has 1 bedroom with a queen bed, and one full bathroom with a tub/shower combo, and washer and dryer!

    This property is strictly non-smoking. No parties! We want you to have a blast, but ask that you respect all of our lovely neighbors. This home is proudly owner-managed. Text, call, or email us with questions!

Family Lake Trip

We had so much fun at this beautiful home! Parking was a little tricky with many people coming from different directions but we were able to park cars at the boat dock. We loved all of the room the house had to offer as well at the variety of kitchen items they had for us to use. The communication with the property manager was fantastic. It was just what we were looking for!

Nice location on the lake. The well water had a smell to it. The homeowner did communicate well with how to troubleshoot. It says it sleeps 15 but there is no way you could sleep that comfortably.

Great Clear Lake House

Home was exactly as pictured on site. Beautiful! Plenty of room for 6 adults, a two year old and newborn. Kitchen was nicely stocked with everything you need to cook. Nice walking trails nearby and even tho other homes around, it was quiet and peaceful. If we head back to Clear Lake in future we would definitely book again!

Amazing home on the lake

We had a great time. My son was on the dock fishing the entire time we were at the house. He went through a whole bucket of minnows and couldn’t count how many fish he caught. House was very clean and beds very comfortable. We will definitely book again the next time we come to visit family.

Beautiful Lake view Property

We were impressed with waking up to a beautiful view of the lake. It was such a relaxing atmosphere sitting out on the decks. The walk out lower level was such a wonderful feature so you could go right out to the dock. The little ones especially loved playing in the sand. The place is also very well equipped with everything you need and beautifully decorated, making us feel at home. .

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It works great for our family. While staying in Clear Lake we had some issues with our boat. I reached out to the owner for any help with who to contact, she was very helpful. We greatly appreciated her help in finding someone to assist with our boat.

It was a wonderful place to stay and our family loved it!! Water quality wasn’t the best. It was mucky and had lots of seaweed. But the kids enjoyed the beach and the smooth lake for skiing and tubing. The house is awesome. Parking is an issue.

Perfect reunion house

My siblings and our spouses all gathered for the Labor Day weekend. The house is lovely -- airy and full of light. The view over the lake is spectacular. It was the perfect place to spend time as a family. Though we all live in Iowa, we had never been to the Clear Lake area. We were all really impressed with the lake, the Clear Lake community and particularly Mason City. The Frank Lloyd-Wright house museum and hotel are a must-see!

Beautiful home with a view!

A beautiful home with everything you could possibly need! The windows looking out to the lake gave us the most spectacular view for a late night storm with big cracks of thunder and lightening. The kitchen is fully stocked, every room sparkling clean, and the surrounding area was fun to stroll. Property owner was quick to respond to my questions. The beds are comfortable and though the house is big, gathering spaces are so cozy. Five stars all around!

Great Spot for a mini family reunion

We had a wonderful time at this property, there were 3 families - 12 of us total on this trip. The lake is beautiful, the property was clean and looked like all the photos. We also had a boat with us and the host told us exactly where to drop in the boat and we were able to use the lift for the weekend. It was a bit of a tight squeeze with the ages of the kids and people needing their own beds, and the couches pull out on both floors for beds which is nice, but we only used theone downstairs, otherwise they would be sleeping in the main room/next to kitchen and it was very bright in there. There are three rooms with queens, and then a bunk room with a trundle as well. Overall, a wonderful stay - would just recommend some towel hooks around the house and in the bathrooms. Tip for those coming, bring water shoes if you can as it can be a little rocky - but I highly recommend this spot! Note: We had a quick 48-hour trip so we literally didn't leave the property, so not much to say about the surrounding area unfortunately, but it all seemed great!
