"Beautiful, spacious, historic renovated schoolhouse, well appointed furnishings. Giant great room off the back and out to an expansive green which is NOT fenced enough to let your pet run loose, which they say in write up (our dog loved the great room to play in). A few things: If the weather is inclement, the firewood on the property along the fence will be wet. We arrived in rain and had sun the next two days but wood was wet, and could not locate any bagged firewood in Rhinebeck, so could not...

"House was very clean and owners seemed kind and thoughtful. They was a bottle of wine waiting for us at arrival. Beds and linens were very comfortable and shower had great water pressure. The view from the balcony is splendid with cozy outdoor furniture and an area for yoga or meditation. We just found the decor to be a little schizophrenic and overwhelming. This is a great place for two adults and a couple of kids to stay. If two couples are going, they would need to be very comfortable...

"Came here for a birthday getaway filled with hiking, and great restaurants! It rained the entire time, but this beautiful cottage was so relaxing, with the windows overlooking the private backyard, we simply sat and read and watched the rain roll by. Lots of room, spacious bedrooms. Great for a family."

Susanne, the host, gave us great directions and was super friendly and helpful and we really appreciated the scones,chocolate and fresh local eggs left for us. "This house is definitely secluded, so if you like privacy, and we do, this is the place for you. The house is well stocked with breakfast food, and food for guests is well marked. House is spotless. Bed is comfortable. I had a long phone conversation with Lisa and she was friendly and honest about what to expect. It's a short drive to the sights in the Hudson Valley. The only caution is the gravel driveway leading to the house is long and rough."

"The check in/out process was super-simple. The communication from the property manager was nice and cordial. The TV/couch area was a little cramped and the freeway noise was noticeable, but the bed mattress was one of the most comfortable mattresses that I have ever slept on. That bed was probably the highlight for me. We used the place as a sleeping spot as we traveled/explored the area and NYC."
