"Stay away from this place! Awful experience with checking in. The person in the office kept asking if I was someone else despite holding my ID in her hand with my name on it. Hotel stated I didn’t have a reservation so I had to show her my hotels.com app and then she gave me a key to the room. I was unable to properly communicate with the person due to a language barrier. Upon entering the room, it was dusty and extremely outdated with damage to some of the furniture. The carpet was stained and didn’t appear to have been vacuumed. The room was freezing. We were unable to locate a thermostat but there was a space heater and an electric fireplace in the room. I turned those on but then the electricity went out. When I went to the office to let the hotel know, there was a sign posted stating the office is closed for an hour. Without being able to turn on any heat (it was in the 40s that day) and having no lights, we decided to leave and request a refund. The hotel lied to the hotels.com representative and stated we never checked in so I have not received the refund. "

"VERY DISAPPOINTED we booked this cottage for a family weekend after my Dads 3rd round of chemo for him to relax.We arrived to find the property VERY dirty. The hot tub was filthy. WE cleaned it only to find that it did not work - barely got warm and no bubbles. This was the largest letdown as it was for my Dad specifically and the reason we chose this property.The kitchen needed 45m of cleaning before it was suitable for food (fridge filled with brown slime). The BBQ required 20m of scraping/cleaning and the dishwasher did not work at all. The entire house needed a good dust and vacuum/mop.The fire pit was filled with trash and reno materials, and had to be cleaned out before we could use it.We did reach out the the host who claimed to have sent a company to clean. They offered a 150 refund (less than 8% of the booking cost) and assured us that someone would come to fix the hot tub. No service person ever came and we recieved no more communication from the host.The house has a wonderful view and good space inside but it is not taken care of. It is hotel pricing for frat house accomdations"

"Laurie and Brooks were excellent hosts, and we had excellent communication before, during and after our stay. They went above and beyond to meet our groups needs and we had an amazing weekend. The animals are adorable and we took full advantage of the farm fresh eggs each morning. The house is full of charm and beautifully decorated. Would definitely recommend and hope to return! "

"This property is incredible! Hotel has it all. Big wonderful well appointed rooms, great restaurants and amazing service. At night there are often deer roaming around. The history of the property is also fascinating to learn about. Can’t wait to stay again. "

"The wood stove and heat pump kept the place warm and cozy. Beautiful spot on the river. Open concept cabin with a lot of the items already there, so less to pack. Hosts were very easy to communicate with and helpful. We would go back in the summer next time and try out the kayaks."

"We had a beautiful stay! The cottage is clean, comfortable and well situated to enjoy the lake view from your muskoka chairs on the waterfront deck. Karen and Stew are excellent hosts who have anticipated their guests' every need. We appreciated all the small touches such as coffee and snacks. The kitchen is well supplied and very functional. We were cozy and warm here during a beautiful fall weekend. And there's lots to do see and do in the surrounding area. We'll be returning."
