Location was good. Cleanliness needed improvement. I had to change rooms because the rug smelled like urine and it ruined my boots. Hospitality was adequate, not overly warm. Hotel decor is dated and is in need of a refresh.

This hotel is excellent. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Any query was answered expertly. The room is very well decorated and every need is catered to. Highly recommend this hotel. It is also in a great location.

The hotel was great. Our room was clean and had everything we needed in it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with decent selection. The location was great for us, as we could walk everywhere around the city centre.

Great location, with easy walking access to the subway, bars, shops and all the main sights. No complaints about the hotel at all, just make sure you have your dancing shoes to learn the waltz in the corridors!

Great location

The hotel was in an excellent position and the staff were very friendly and helpful with providing local information. The room itself was a bit dark with the curtains open perhaps due to the small window but mainly due to the dark grey decor which was a little tired in places. The double sliding mirror doors to the bathroom was quirky but not ideal for me ,however 10/10 for the rain shower which was perfect in my opinion. As said great location and particularly if you like the local friendly bars and some good craft beer. A few minutes walk from the Ubahn and the busy centre for a true Vienna experience.

The hotel is ideally located for enjoying the Innere Stadt (historic) part of Vienna. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast quite good.

The Hotel was perfectly situated if you want to start your tours of the city. There is a whole lot of restaurants nearby to choose from. The staff is friendly and helpful. But the the room showed some signs of wear in all areas (Stains on the carpet, the room had a smell which was not pleasant, scratches here and there). Changing of room was only possible to a lower floor due to booking situation. But the hotel staff recommended to stay in the room we had, due to noise in the evenings on the weekend. Therefore the overall stay was average.

We stayed at Mercure Vienna First 8 years ago and chose it for the same reasons again, and we were NOT DISAPPOINTED. We chose the breakfast included and everyday the staff was friendly, at the breakfast buffet, the front hotel staff, and house keeping. We appreciated their conversations about our day, and the hotel is in a great location to shops, restaurants, transportation and easily walkable to all that Vienna has to offer. We love this hotel and if we return to Vienna we will certainly stay here again.

nice hotel exceptional positon with some flaws

Nice hotel in exceptional location. Polite staff, very clean, sometimes a bit noisy from the crowd in the bars outdoor but nothing really annoying. What I found annoying though is there are no chairs with backrest in the room! It's very uncomfortable if you have to work or use your laptop for more than 10 minutes. The armchair is also awkward to sit on (kind of inclined), I would not recommend the hotel for an extended business trip.
