We loved it, but we will probably come back in the summer when the weather is nicer! The wind and snow is no joke in Iceland—and rental car companies shouldn’t rent 2-wheel drive cars at all in the winter!!

"Enjoyed the apartment. We had difficulty finding the apartment dispite getting the instructions. The sign on the building was confusing. Would love some instructions to use the cooking range and the fire alarm did beep several times when we used the toaster."

Dangerous weather day.The Farmhouse is about 12 k west of Vik, through a mountain. We got stranded in Vik for 10 hours when the road closed. Luckily the Icewear Magasin allowed us to stay until roads opened at 9:30 pm. Big store with 2 cafes.

Kronan supermarket in vik is great for basic necessities, excellent baked goods daily! Lava cafe is next to it, great food.

It was a cute town and had places to eat, but it was very small! The surrounding natural sites were the best part of this area-- and there was plenty to see and do.

We ate at Sudur Vik and it was excellent. We also did a Vik Horse adventure which was great. We went to Reynisfjara and Dyrholaey. Love the area overall.
