"We stayed in Hoopoe Cottage. While I appreciate that Barton is under new ownership, our experience was disappointing. Before we even arrived, our booking had been incorrectly recorded for the wrong day (fortunately my husband phoned to confirm). We'd also arranged an early bag drop (no issue there) and were told the hot tub would be lit before our return from the Overberg Explorer. "Beautiful estate and outstanding hospitality. The room was clean and cosy, had a neat little balcony for you to sit outside in the evening. Breakfast was always hearty and generous in portions. There was also a tennis court onsite which we didn’t know about, so that was a good surprise. The estate is on the wine tram line so it’s really easy if u just wanna hop on and off to other places with no trouble. Overall 10/10 Wished we had longer stay!"

"We absolutely loved Clouds Estate and would absolutely return should we go back to Stellenbosch. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a lovely birthday surprise for my husband, they left cake, wine, treats. It was lovely. We loved our room., especially the underfloor heating in the bathroom. There was a sitting area and a balcony overlooking the pool area. I love a Nespresso machine in a room and they had lots of pods to choose from. Breakfast was wonderful. There was a continental selection along with a menu to choose a cooked option. Also, they had their sparkling wine at breakfast, such a treat (well, you're on holiday, so why not!!) The views are truly spectacular. Book Clouds Estate, you won't be disappointed"

"Our family of 10 adults had an incredible three-night stay at Sunset Farm—it was truly one of the highlights of our trip through the Cape. The farmhouse was massive, spotless, and beautifully maintained, with every bedroom having its own private bathroom. The staff even arranged the beds to perfectly suit our group. Paul, Katie, and the entire team were wonderful hosts. They were always friendly, helpful, and available when needed, while still giving us complete privacy. My young adult daughters especially enjoyed chatting with Katie and learning about life in Stellenbosch. Evenings around the pool, braai, and cozy fire were unforgettable, especially while watching the rugby and World Cup together. It was fantastic having the property to ourselves while knowing staff were on-site overnight. The location is ideal—just minutes from world-class wine estates, outdoor markets, and the breathtaking scenery of Stellenbosch. Having a SPAR nearby made it easy to stock up on food and drinks for our evenings. After weeks of travelling through the Cape, the affordable laundry service (wash, dry, press, and fold) was an absolute luxury and greatly appreciated. Some of our family also stayed in the villas, and everyone agreed this was one of the best accommodations of our South African holiday. We highly recommend Sunset Farm and can't wait to return!"
