This place was so cute, cozy and PERFECT! Bring earplugs because the coqui frogs are so loud! The washer/dryer is a 2in1 so be prepared for it to take longer than normal. But seriously loved this cabin. It feels like you are in your own little world and the host was very quick to respond when I had a question.

The house is amazing! Very clean and modern. Just as beautiful in person as the pictures. Jeff was an exceptional host. Instructions on checking in was very clear and he notified us when Kīlauea was erupting. Location was convenient to the park and easy drive to and from Hilo. Would love to stay here again.

Such a lovely little cabin in Volcano with a nice small hot tub perfect for 2 and a great fire that lights up with the switch on the wall. We were so comfortable sleeping here, and made breakfast in the kitchen with all you needed. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Volcano!

Cabin getaway

We loved the modern cabin and its amenities. Convenient location only 3 miles from Volcano National Park. Not as secluded as you might think - which could be good or bad depending on what you’re looking for… Neighbors were noisy at times and you can hear highway traffic. But you also hear frogs and birds! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend and would book again!

We had such an amazing experience staying at this cabin. From the moment we booked, the host was incredibly attentive, responsive, and accommodating — truly going above and beyond to make our stay seamless and comfortable. The cabin itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and exactly as advertised. The photos and listing descriptions were perfectly accurate, but seeing everything in person made us appreciate it even more. Every detail felt intentional — cozy furnishings, thoughtful touches, and a layout that made us feel right at home.It was clean, peaceful, inviting, and the perfect place to relax and recharge. We loved everything about our stay and could not be happier with the experience. This was our first time here, but definitely not our last — already looking forward to the next getaway! Highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-hosted escape.

We had a wonderful stay at Kūono at Volcano and it quickly became one of the highlights of our Big Island trip. This modern cabin is an absolute architectural gem—its sleek design with those stunning 14-foot floor-to-ceiling windows perfectly frames the surrounding Ōhiʻa forest, blending indoor comfort with the natural beauty outside. It feels like a peaceful retreat that still connects you deeply to the volcanic landscape. The cedar soaking tub was pure bliss after long days exploring Volcanoes National Park (just minutes away). We spent evenings relaxing in it, listening to the quiet of the forest. The shower was another standout—spacious, with great water pressure and temperature control. The open-concept space was cozy yet stylish, perfect for unwinding. The location is incredibly relaxing and private, nestled among the trees for that immersive nature feel while remaining convenient. When we had a small issue upon arrival, the host Jeff responded immediately and resolved it efficiently. This reflected true Superhost service that made us feel well cared for overall. If you're looking for a serene, thoughtfully designed base near the national park, book this place without hesitation. We’d return in a heartbeat. Mahalo, Jeff!

too many cockroaches

Every time i went to bathroom at night i saw i least 2-3 live cockroaches around me in the bathroom and living room. They are big and scary. Considering the price of the room, i do think the owner should do some pest control seriously.
