The property is located in a gated community on the western side of Oahu (Cottages at Mauna Olu), with 24 hours security. The community has parks, and is close to the golf course.
There is plenty to do in this sunny town, all within 10 mins drive, including swimming, snorkeling, diving, hiking, and so much more. Depending on the seasons, You could catch sightings of whales, dolphins, and turtles in the ocean.
Waianae is 40 minutes from the airport (HNL), 45 minutes from the heart of Waikiki, and an hour from the North Shore. It’s the perfect place to relax after a day of exploration.

This is in a gated residential community, please be respectful of our neighbors; no parties, no events, or large gatherings.

We stayed for seven days. During our stay there was extreme rain. The recreational equipment (pool table and foosball table) in the garage were extremely fun for our kids! Due to flooding on the island this was an excellent location, as it is situated up high. Overall our stay here was excellent and worked out very well for our family! The kitchen is well stocked, and the laundry facility was very useful. There were beach towels provided as well as some beach accessories (snorkels, fins and etc.) I would highly recommend this property, especially to larger family groups. It worked well to accommodate our large family group of 8.
The house was beautiful and very spacious. Each room had comfortable beds. The kitchen and main living areas were clean and inviting. The surrounding views stunning. The garage doubled as a laundry room and entertainment area with games that the kids loved. Would absolutely stay there again. Only down side is the distance to everything else we were doing on the island but not their fault at all!
The house is awesome and has everything you need. One of the best VRBO’s we have stayed in. The backyard view is fantastic. Great host communication too. Would definitely stay again.
The house is in a beautiful gated neighborhood and well furnished. Having a washer and dryer was great since we stayed for 10 days. It rained most of the stay, so we only used the community pool a few times, but it and the clubhouse were clean and inviting. With a lot of rain, the mountains around community have many waterfalls that are visible from the house. The commute into and back from Honolulu could get long with traffic. A two to two and a half hour drive was the normal during business hours because of traffic. The house is about a 50 minute to one hour drive to the airport, depending on traffic.
The property was beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Upon arrival the house was very clean and exceeded our expectations. The view from the patio was gorgeous and great for enjoying morning coffee.
We had 2 families of 4 (adults and teens) stay with n this home for over a week. The views are gorgeous, the home is n a wonderful and safe neighborhood and the floor plan worked perfectly for our families.
This tucked away house in the Makaha valley was perfect for our family vacation! Access the close beaches and relax with beautiful sunsets! The house is nice with all the extra bathrooms, 2 bedrooms with bathrooms.
The basketball hoops in the garage was busted, but overall, great place to gather! The gated community was an extra piece of mind.
Stayed at this location for Oahu family vacation. Location was ideal for our purposes. Drive times to attractions in Honolulu and Waikiki can be lengthy, but if timed to avoid rush hour traffic they are manageable. Beaches on north western shores are beautiful.

The view was beautiful of the ocean and loved the surrounding mountains. The occasional presence of peacocks in the community was quite unique. Impressed that there were so many things available in the place, like beach chairs, beach shoes, pool table, and especially the basic necessities in the kitchen. Very well thought out. Such a beautiful home away from home!
We loved the area of the home. The gated community was very lovely and secure. Sunset ocean views from our patio were amazing with mountains towering beside us. We loved to listen to and identify the birds on the mountainside in the mornings. The beaches along the north portion of the highway were very close, breathtaking, and mostly empty. We loved the privacy of the home and the proximity to beaches. Kitchen was perfectly equipped and the home more than spacious for us. All of this and only an hour to Honolulu. Ideal.
Great home that worked well for our family. Six of us stayed and there was plenty of room, and with 3.5 baths it made getting ready easy in the mornings. The gated community was great and we felt very safe! We had everything we needed at the house to cook meals and the beach items in the garage were wonderful, and made it super easy to spend the day at the beach with the chairs, umbrella and even a cooler had we needed it! The views are amazing, check in was easy as well. Would definitely recommend if we were to stay in Oahu again. You would need a car to stay here,and you most likely would have one if staying outside of Waikiki.
We loved our stay at this home!! It is a drive to most of the activities in Oahu the drive but the drive is worth it!! Just be sure to plan your day knowing that you’ll have at least an hour drive to most of the tourist activities! The beach at the end of the entrance road is perfect for a family who dont want to have to fight big crowds. The color of the ocean is amazing!!! A couple of suggestions: it would eabe nice to if there were dresses besides a clothes closet and also a safe. I felt comfortable locking the house but it would still be nice to have extra security having a safe.I would recommend this house for anyone!!! We loved our stay!!

Winter Getaway
The house was very nice, we loved the unobstructed view from the back.
The kitchen was lacking pots/pans and such. The cleanliness was not the best. We found wrappers of fast food under the beds upstairs, stuff in the couch cushions and the floor was dirty.
This home was perfect for our group. We had 5 adult friends and there was plenty of sleeping space and 3.5 restrooms! Each room had its own AC unit so each person could control the room temperature to their preference. The kitchen was fully equipped with pots, pans, plates, cups, coffee maker, rice cooker, refrigerator, microwave and so much more. It made meals easy and cost efficient. There were boogie boards, snorkel gear and beach towels so we didn’t have to rent any of that. The house itself is beautiful. The views from every part of the property were breathtaking. The neighborhood was quiet and safe(gated community). It was a little far from all major activities on the island. However, there is a locals beach about 10 minutes away.
This was one of the nicest places we have stayed! Lots of extras that you don’t always find in a rental. They have everything you need from spices to soaps and toilet paper. Most places only have a small starter amount of things like toilet paper and laundry soap but this house had plenty for your whole stay. The beds are so comfortable and sheets were wonderful. We slept very good! We did have a blackout one evening for around 5 hours and there was no flash lights or candles. According to the gate worker it seems like that is a common occurrence so I would recommend they add those to the house. The neighborhood and views are beautiful but if you are planning to explore the island every day then plan for long drives. This side of the island is where most of the homeless live so a lot of the beach area is full of homeless camps but if you drive up the coast just a bit there are beautiful beaches with no crowds. All in all this was a wonderful rental with lots of extras.
We were a party of 9 (6 adults and 3 kids) visiting this island for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the house once we actually checked in (it looks way smaller in pics :) ). The property is very well maintained and has everything that you would need for a trip. The host was very accommodating on certain requests that we had (for e.g. creating an extra space in the garage to house a third car since only two car parking is available). They were also super responsive on an issue where one of the beds broke on a Sunday morning and it was fixed on the same day!!
Our only issue with the stay was that the location is on the west side of the island and most of the activities that we had planned are on the east side + there is also growing population of homeless on this side of the island. But this is not something that is related to the property, our entire friends circle thoroughly enjoyed staying in this house and we would definitely recommend it to our friends.
P.S. The backyard view is just awesome for taking pictures during the day.
Excellent location if you want to escape the city. Peaceful part of Hawaii with great beaches and hiking. Host very quick to respond. Beds comfortable which is always a plus and an unknown at VRBOs.
