"Our favorite inn of a 10 day 7 hotel trip. Picturesque pub/ inn with a proper restaurant. Entertaining and unique innkeeper and delightful barman. Dinner in the pub was delicious. Room was small and low ceilinged, in keeping w the age and character of the building. Large bath w soaking tub. Mattress a bit too hard for my liking—could be fixed w a 2” memory foam topper. Pillows likewise— found softer ones in the closet the next morning! "

"The host never responded to any text or chat messages from us once we were given his contact details three days prior to the booking. There was no email address only a mobile phone with no voice mail available to leave a message. Neither did he respond to any emails sent by Vrbo support. Vrbo did not have any additional information about the property apart from that on the website and did not allow the booking to be cancelled until we actually arrived at the property despite the complete lack of communication from the host. We arrived at the property and were unable to gain access.The neighbours had never heard of the host, his name was unknown to them as an owner of the property. It has not been available to rent for some time. It is advertised as a house but it is a downstairs apartment/flat. Added to which it was surrounded by scaffolding. We immediately rang Vrbo support who cancelled the booking and arranged an immediate refund of our money. We then had to find, at very short notice, alternative local accommodation as we needed to be in the immediate area that night to be near a relative. The whole experience was stressful since we were away from home prior to the start of the booking and were travelling a considerable distance with no information or assurance about the property and its access, since there was no communication from the host and Vrbo were unable to do anything about this. "Very interesting and comfortable stable conversion. we had glorious weather so made use of the outside area. Jenny and Robert were friendly and informative. The area is pretty rolling hills with beechwoods and plenty of good footpaths to explore. The bluebells were at their peak."

"The staff were amazing, incredibly helpful and friendly. They made sure that the gluten free member of our group was catered for at breakfast. The room was clean, and the beds comfy afrer walking the Thames path. I wiuld stay here again in a heartbeat and am thinking of retyrning with my family due to the location and price. "
