"We've stayed at Holiday Inn Express before and always been very happy. This was no exception. The staff were polite and helpful. The rooms are clean with good bedding and pillows. The bathroom is well laid out with a very good shower and plenty of hot water. The breakfast was excellent with so much choice. When we take short breaks or need a stopover we always look for a Holiday Inn Express as a firstvchoice if possible."

"Ideal location for uni or short ride into Colchester . Lovely grounds and pleasant bar/restaurant . Our room in the new building had a lovely balcony and very comfy bed . Would stay again ."

"Superb hotel, comfortable stay, room excellent. Breakfast wonderful. Only niggles were the bar prices very akin to London and when compared to other hotel spas facilities there were lacking for the admission fee. Would stay again as well overall a great hotel."

"A really lovely hotel and location. We had a short break here as we had travelled down to visit Jimmys farm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the loft suite and enjoyed the fantastic room."

"Gym closed, spa was open but had to pre register at reception. Hotel bit dated deffo needs a bit TLC. Room I had was ok, but again in need of some help. Bed very comfy, and towels a plenty. Was ok to stay"
