"The Barn" was the perfect long weekend getaway for us. We enjoyed the property, location and the house was gorgeous. It was supplied with everything you would need plus plenty of things to do if the weather isnt cooperative to enjoy outdoor activities. We will be booking another vacation stay next year.
Julie was a great host. She was very receptive and communicates well. She has an amazing eye for detail. Everything you need is there for you. It was truly a beautiful home and the views are amazing. The town was quiet and all stores and restaurants are 15 mins away in Moorefield.
Looking forward to going back.
My husband, two teens and myself had a great time at this property. The house is so unique, and filled with lots of games for both indoor and outside. We had a lot of fun just hanging out. The only downside is that you're downwind from a chicken farm and when the wind shifts its not very pleasant to be outside. It wasn't like that they whole time though!
The place is very clean and cute. A group of us 7 adults stayed comfortably. This place is filled with gaming options so you pretty much don’t need to bring any entertainments with you. So many kitchen gadgets and even a pit boss smoker. Hot tub or fire pit is a great end to the day.
There are deers around so watch out if you have a dog that likes to chase wild animals.
Hot tub was amazing hot and relaxing. The inside was beautiful and clean. Rain shower was awesome. Pool and shuffle board were great and the area was pretty and quiet.
Very clean and very well stocked. Plenty of entertainment with a closet full of games, a pool table and especially a very nice shuffleboard. We lost Internet one day and contacted the owner Julie, who in turn contacted the local Internet provider. They arrived the next day, replaced the router and we had no further problems. We would definitely stay here again the next time we vacation in the area
Recent stormy weather may have impacted our stay. Too wet for mowing the entrance. We enjoyed the lovely porch and the various activities and games. The hot tub was fine.Everything was clean and the linens are nice. The stove in the main kitchen didn’t work, so we had to take utensils and food up and down. The upper kitchen faucet aerator seems worn. Rain water had seeped onto the floor underneath the shuffleboard table. However the major problem was the twin bed that was missing a slat and broke when our son sat on it.
What a Fantastic property! Lots of open yard for the dogs to run around at will. The hot tub was great for starry nights and the firepit was a perfect touch as we used it almost every night. So many things to do for the kids (and adults)....They had ladder ball, 3 Frisbee Golf baskets around the property with all the discs you would need, Bocci Ball, a Pool table and a Shuffle Board table. A nice swing in the large Oak Tree for reading books. The downstairs was the perfect place to keep the kids and the dogs as there was a Bunkbed and another bed along with a kitchen area with a sink, cupboards and fridge. Also one of the bathrooms and a living area with a TV. The upstairs was equally great for the adults with a full kitchen and 2 separate rooms with queen size beds and private baths/showers. Also access to the deck with a perfect Pit Boss Grill/Smoker (I'll be buying one now). One thing that impressed me most of all is how well stocked the property was. Any utensil, pot, pan, cupcake pan, bowls, lighters, kuerigs, coffee pots, spices, etc. There was literally nothing that I needed during my week stay that was not in the cabin. Location was close to everything we wanted to do. River Floating, Lost River State Park, Horse Riding, Hiking, Swimming and Bike Riding. We had a great trip and the location is very peaceful. Thanks Michael and Julie
