No check-in details were sent, left waiting for almost three hours after a six hour drive. Host “flying back from Gold Coast” so not answering calls. Vrbo in process of finding somewhere else for us to stay when he finally answered phone, texts and email. No apology, just put blame on Stayz. Got in to find stairs very narrow and inhospitable to disabled family member as bedrooms and sitting area on separate level to kitchen. You had to walk through a bedroom with a bath in it to get from the car to the main living area. Privacy, nil.The place was filthy. Cobwebs in every corner. Dust buildup everywhere. Mould in the main shower stall, and plaster flaking off the wall near the shower. Skirting boards dirty. Only one towel each, for a beachside property, so too bad if we wanted to wash our hair. Only one hand towel for the whole house, and no bath mats. Only two rolls of toilet paper for five days for six people. Only one rubbish bag, but an almost full rubbish bin which they asked us to put out.Host denies any issues of cleanliness as he “was there four weeks ago and did the cleaning himself”. But I have pictures.The dishwasher malfunctioned two days into our five day stay. No strainer for washing salad or draining pasta, no dish drainer, or soft cloths for wiping down benches, etc.A great location. Beds comfortable enough. Would not stay again, but it’s on the market anyway.
