We had a short (3-night) but perfect mid-week stay at this new rental. The owners were so pleasant and really provided everything one could want for a great vacation.
At the time that we reserved, there were very few reviews, and we had never been to this lake, so one has to rely on the listing. The pics are spot-on, though impossible to also capture the soaring trees/shade, fresh breezes, panoramic view, sun-warmed stones leading from the stairs to the deck or glittering lake in late afternoon. The description is pretty darn accurate, too, though not conveying the number of beautiful new lawn chairs (so many choices), shed full of firewood/kindling, numerous life vests, plentiful towels, etc. A few things to note: Water shoes may be helpful (lake bottom is sandy/rocky), the 3 stairs from seawall to water are slick (we were warned), and there is no dishwasher (just in case you assumed). As one reviewer pointed out, there are about 20 steps from deck to grass, so may be necessary for some to consider. They are solid concrete, lit at night, with two sturdy railings.
If boating, one thing that may help is to know the "no wake" hours - would confirm, but something like 45 mins. before sunset to sunrise. Also, entrance to Little Chapman was not self-explanatory or marked that we saw, but between lily pads at about 10 o'clock from the rental (please fact-check this - owner or any neighbor could confirm). We rented a speedboat and brought two screw anchors, which worked like a charm and didn't need to "settle", though there is a spot with eye hooks in the channel. The lake was never crowded. And since a speedboat, we fished mainly off the seawall at dusk and hooked a few bluegills, perch and one picture-worthy bass with bobbers/nightcrawlers.
And have to mention, the house is quite tidy and well-appointed, though we truly only used it to sleep and to cook (bringing food out to deck for meals with a great view) -- The outside was too big a draw to want to be inside! We also found the location to be close to town and easy to find at night.
We'd be remiss in not thanking you again, Emerson and Natalie, for a truly fantastic stay!
