Carriage House Studio in the Heart of DC
Our recently renovated carriage house studio is located in one of DC's best neighborhoods, just two blocks from bustling 14th Street (Logan Circle), 17th Street (Dupont Circle), and U Street. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and stores within a couple of blocks. It's also close to downtown DC with the White House about a mile away and the National Mall close by! Our studio is the perfect location for visiting friends, sightseeing, and exploring all that DC has to offer.
There are several bus stops nearby, two separate metro/subway stations that are each about a ten-minute walk, and multiple Capital Bikeshare stations a couple of blocks in all directions.
You access the carriage house studio via the alley behind our home. You enter through the garage by entering a garage door code. The studio is on the second floor. It is one large room with a kitchenette.
The kitchenette has a mini-fridge with freezer, microwave, hot plate, Keurig, and drip coffee maker. The studio itself has several windows, A/C, heat, a ceiling fan, ample closet space, and a combo washer & dryer. The full bathroom is in a separate room.
Please note that the studio has a steeper than normal staircase to enter and exit. The stairwell has a handrail and is well lit. The backyard courtyard cannot be used.
For the streets closest to the carriage house, we can provide you a free parking permit that allows you to park nearby in all areas marked as Zone 2 parking. In order to receive a permit, you can send us your state, license plate number, and make/color of your car. We will print you a copy of the permit that you can leave on the dashboard.
Please note that the parking permit is only valid on the surrounding streets and is not valid in all of DC. Please also pay close attention to street sweeping signs to avoid tickets. While the carriage house is located in one of DC’s safest neighborhoods, please do not leave anything visible in your car.
For public transportation, nearby there are bus stops, two metro/subway stations, multiple Capital Bikeshare stations, rentable electric scooters & bikes, and plenty of Ubers/Lyfts/taxis. It's also a very walkable area with ample street parking.

We love this place. This is the second time we've stayed here. The studio is very comfortable and has everything we need. It's in the perfect location for getting the best of the U St. and Logan Circle areas. Alexander is a great host – very responsive and good communications.
I’ve stayed at a lot of VRBO locations and I have to say that this was one of my favorites. So clean, perfect location, comfortable bed, the Host was extremely nice and helpful. 10/10 would recommend!
Great small place to stay while visiting friends nearby! The space operates exactly as the instructions indicated, and the AC worked really well even on the very warm and humid days! Nice kitchen with a fair amount of dishes and kitchenware if needed, and very good water pressure in the shower. I usually need to sleep in a very dark room, but at least in early October, I didn't find that the sun coming in the skylights in the morning was intrusive at all.

This is an absolute gem of a property, a private studio within walking distance of all the sights, downtown and great restaurants. I hope I can stay here if I go to DC again.
We enjoyed the stay at this studio. It’s a close walk to a lot of restaurants, things to do. Parking on street was very easy. Check in was simple. Communication friendly and helpful. Space was clean. The bed is very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
We manage a small dairy farm, and don't often get to explore DC. This studio was a perfect spot for us - tucked in an alley in a nice, safe neighborhood that was walkable and full of good restaurants and local businesses. Very clean and quiet!
The carriage house was a cozy, immaculate, well-stocked accommodation in a safe, beautiful neighborhood within easy walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Hosts were very responsive and courteous.
This carriage house studio is just like the pictures. It is well stocked, very comfortable, and located in an attractive neighborhood. Street parking was provided, but we took advantage of the nearby Metro. What a great place to stay and experience the DC area!
The host made check in easy. The space was very clean and in a great location. Close to public transit. Will definitely use again on our next trip to DC.
Stay was good. Washer and dryer didn’t work but property owners handles the issue. Great location had everything we needed.

Super convenient location and easy communication with the host. Be aware that the stairs up to the apartment are quite steep, so it is not easy to hoist giant suitcases up there, but it is not impossible. It was the perfect location for our trip and I recommend it highly!
The property was surpisingly quiet for being in such a lively neighborhood. Fall colors were beautiful; loved walking and scootering around town. Check in and out was super easy and communication was very good.
Super comfortable bed. Accusations Mickey appointed. Great location close to Whole Foods and trader joe. Excellent restaurants within easy walk. Especially liked the large echo speaker in apartment as I prefer white noise for sleeping.
The studio apartment is very quiet and private. It's located in a great area with easy access to the rest of the city. We found that most stuff was in walking distance. The apartment was very clean and nice. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to DC.
This property is exactly as described online and perfect for two people. It was spotless and super quiet. Access is off the alleyway - which was very easy to find; mid-way between two subway stops (each 10-15 minute walk through nice neighborhoods). We will definitely use it again whenever we visit DC.
This place is beautiful and clean inside, has everything you need, and the owners are very responsive and nice. It is more like the second floor of a garage than a carriage house. And the entrance is in an alley which looks much different than the front of the house on15th St.
Accessing the accommodations was well thought out and the property was clean. The property owners were very responsive and helpful. The location is away from the touristy areas, but close enough to see the sites. Many options for dining out were available while being able to do some light cooking in if desired. One note: make sure and get the correct address from the owner as the VRBO app directions function takes you to the wrong house!
Convenient quiet location great for single woman working for the week in DC
Liked it was very near the S2 bus as I worked at the Natural History Museum each day and that is at the end of the line. The apartment is quiet with good internet and had everything I needed. It is near a Trader Joe’s and many fun restaurants. I walked back each evening. Landlord gave me a street parking pass one evening for my friend to use. I enjoyed the nearby Room and Board and West Elm showrooms one evening as we are furnishing our new home in NC.
Great location, wonderful neighborhood. Walking distance to great places, felt very safe. Studio is small but extremely clean. Bed was comfortable. Glad I brought my eye sleeping mask because the skylights which made the studio feel light and airy during the day made it too bright too early in the morning. Once I got the hang of the keypad it was fine (push enter TWICE!) but the alley was full of mosquitoes and trash everywhere. Stairs were very steep and narrow, not really an issue except I had to make many more trips than I normally would. Also, alley is very narrow, I scraped my car against the corner when I parked to load up on departure day.

We were absolutely delighted with the Carriage House. It was everything we needed. It is a perfectly outfitted studio. The hosts have thought of everything. The directions were perfect, everything we needed was in the apartment. It was very quiet and we easily found parking in the neighborhood. The bus down 14th street was a very easy way to get to the mall and museums and good restaurants were 2 blocks away. Getting into the apartment through the garage was also very easy. I would stay here again anytime I am in DC. Thanks for making it such an enjoyable and comfortable visit.
We have stayed in several studio, mother-in-law unit type of places. This one was the most well-stocked unit for its size. Don't believe me? They had a lint roller and a fly swatter in the closet. We didn't need the fly swatter but the lint roller came in handy because I am a pet owner and I always seem to travel with a bit of dog hair on my clothes. 🙂 There was a nice amount of storage space for luggage, bathroom items, etc., which is not always the case in studio units. There were plenty of restaurants nearby and a Trader Joe's, in case you want to cook or just pick up a premade salad. We also had to stop at the Jeni's Ice Cream shop - delicious. The unit was very clean. They also had very few rules or check-out tasks, which was nice. We definitely would stay there again.
