New construction apartment in rear of 1910’s downtown DC row house. Spacious living area designed in a private alley just minutes from two different metro stations, tourist attractions, Convention Center, and nightlife. Perfect space for a family visiting historic attractions, friends experiencing Union Market, Shaw and U St nightlife or someone doing business in the city. Apartment is for two people but you can bring 1-2 extra guests at an additional charge.

The area
 Second level apartment in the NoMa neighborhood, right in the center of Washington, DC.  Two and a half blocks from NoMa metro, half a mile from the Convention Center and 15 minutes walk from popular Union Market.  One mile from the US Capitol and the National Mall and super close to Chinatown, Logan Circle and Shaw. Lots of restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy, and coffee shops just steps from the house.
 
Two bus lines located about a block of the apartment plus several rental bike stations.  There is also plenty street parking space.
 
Located on a main street but alley location provides for a quieter space.

The space
 
Environmentally friendly new construction finished in April 2024. Second floor private apartment with private, alley-type entrance (no need to see the hosts but we are happy to assist you on anything). Modern apartment with high ceilings and lots of light.  Main area with a sofa bed (sleeps two children or one adult) and dining table that sits four people.
 
45 inches TV with Roku access to Netflix and other streaming services. Wi-Fi service exclusive for this unit.  24-hours security cameras.  Digital locks with unique combination for your stay.
 
Fully equipped kitchen, including full-size refrigerator, full-size stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and washer and dryer. 
 
Bedroom includes a queen size bed and plenty closet space.  Beautiful and spacious bathroom with full size shower.
 
Independent guest-controlled cooling and heating.
 
Apartment comfortably fits two people but can accommodate afamily of four or a group of four friends. 
 
All furniture, kitchen items and linens and towels are new.
 
No smoking in the apartment. No pets please.

You will have complete privacy in the apartment, but also have the hosts available 24-7 in the main residence. Private entrance from the alley with security cameras around you. Digital locks provide for an unique passcode and no need to carry keys around the city. Unlike an "English basement", you'll have plenty of light, privacy, and quiet.

Nice, clean place with a very responsive host. The only thing to note is that the entrance is in the alley rather than on New York Street.

Property was clean and well maintained. The owner was in close proximity to the property. Very private and close to Capital Hill, downtown and Union Station. Easy access to major roadways. Owner was very hospitable. Highly recommended for an adult couple. I would stay there again without hesitation.

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for a week over the September long weekend and it was great! The apartment is as described on the Vrbo site, and was very comfortable for the two of us. The kitchen is very modern with new appliances, the bed is super comfortable and the air conditioning was a welcome respite from the Washington heat (which I'm told wasn't even that hot!). The apartment is in a fabulous location - just blocks from the Metro, which will get you almost anywhere in the city. Christian is a welcoming and caring host, and was quick to respond if we had any questions. I highly recommend @StayatNoMA for a stay in DC.

Great apartment close to DC sites

Clean modern apartment with lots of amenities. Close to many DC sites. Easy to get in and out. We drove and paid for the use of the garage below the apartment and it was great knowing we had close parking and could easily pack and unpack the car. Loved having the washer and dryer since we visited during a heat wave. Perfect for 2 adults and a teen. The host was friendly and quick to respond any time we had questions.

An Unsuspectingly Charming Getaway

Me and my boyfriend booked this location for our weekend trip to DC. Our Apple Maps led us to row houses along a Main Street with little to no parking, but to our pleasant surprise, the place was behind these row houses (you have to take a small side street) to get to it. It looked exactly as it did in the pictures, it was very clean and smelled of fresh laundry. It was smaller than expected, but very charming and perfect for our trip as we were out most of the day and only came back to eat and sleep. On our first night, he met us in-person, made sure we had everything we needed, and provided us his cell phone number where communication was much better. He went above and beyond, giving us great tips for navigating the city like a local, showing us where we could park for free, and even unlocked our door as soon as he could after his work day as I accidentally locked us out!Thank you, Christian, for everything! We can’t wait to stay with you again!

NoMA New York Ave NW in DC

Overall, excellent host! Was very engaged with me during check in and during my stay. Minor issue with AC units in which owner was quick to identify and fix. Neighborhood is okay, coming and going after hours was uncomfortable with the only entry being in the back alley of the area. Otherwise great little place to with good access to railways to everything downtown and if you don't mind walking within walking distance.

Wohnung top - Umgebung flop

Über das kleine Apartment lässt sich nur Gutes berichten. Waren zu dritt dort, das war OK. Zu viert wäre es eng geworden. Die Schlafcouch ist eher für Kinder geeignet. Das Einchecken hat gut geklappt, der Gastgeber ist nett und zuverlässig. Allerdings befindet man sich in einer Hinterhofumgebung. Es war mehrfach nachts laut und wir meinten, wir waren in einer Partyszene gelandet. Die Menschen dort machten auch nicht den vertrauensvollsten Eindruck. Ansonsten ist die Lage der Wohnung gut.

Great location

We had a great stay at NoMA thanks to the property owner. It was close to public transit, bikes, and grocery stores that made our stay very accessible. The addition of the kitchen and garage access (pay fee) was also helpful to feed the kids and keep our rental car safe. I would say that the sofa bed is not made for adults or larger kids, so realistically the space can accommodate parents and young children if seeking to bring more than 2 people.

Small but Sweet

We enjoyed it very much. Christian was so nice and helpful. We were a bit worried about the neighborhood at first but it turned out just fine. My daughter and I went for a run 3 times and felt very safe. My niece lives and works in DC and she met us there and said she thought were were in a good area. The Metro was close so we used that and paid to park our car in the garage. It was a little crowded for the 3 of us but it worked. We would consider staying here again.

The Perfect Little Apartment

Christian and his wife are great and have a comfortable little apartment with everything we needed for our DC vacation! My husband, 11 year old son, and myself have never been to DC before and the hosts were very accommodating. Christian helped to guide us to the apartment from the metro and had great suggestions on things to do and see during our stay. We took the metro right from the airport to NoMa and the apartment was just a few blocks away. Apartment is clean, cozy, and within walking distance to a ton of restaurants and the Harry Teeter grocery store. We did without renting a car since we were here over spring break and used the public scooters and bicycles to get literally everywhere around DC. We had a such a great time and I would definitely stay here again! Thank you!

You have to enter through a back alley which didn’t feel super safe at night. The comforter had stains on it, the shower was cold, and the heat took forever to heat up the apartment so I was freezing for a whole day.

Had problem with entrance key pad. Tried to check in just after 3:00. Host not there until 8:45 pm to reset code. Then no hot water for the two days we were there, night of Dec.23,24. Host turned temp up higher but no change. Trying to get compensation but no recent responses.

Our check in key password at 3:00 check in didn’t work. Couldn’t get in until the owner showed up around 8:30 pm. The hot water in the apartment didn’t work, couldn’t take a shower. Asked to be refunded one of our two days.

New Property

Located in NoMa neighborhood. This newly built property will only get better and better as the area gentrifies. Owner friendly and very responsive. Small but compact with all the essentials. Queen bed in small bedroom separated from main living area by pocket doors. Small sofa opens into a bed -- good for children, small for an adult. Small kitchen area, but well equipped. Very thoughtful utilization of space - all comforts of home included. Detached unit located above a garage, accessed by back alley. Quiet at night, within walking distance of many attractions. About 1/2 mile walk to Red Line/metro. Free street parking or pay for a garage spot through VRBO owner. Area is gentrifying, felt safe at night but wise to be "city smart." We were in town for a concert at the Capitol One Arena. Walked to and from as weather was nice (<1 mile). Some good eateries in close proximity of property. Overall, enjoyed our stay.

Within walking distance to just about anything

The property itself is very nicely done and was very clean! I did not need the amenities but had everything available for use! I was able to walk to several great neighborhoods and when it was time to return…super easy to get in and out of the unit with the door codes

The room is very well equipped and has everything necessary for a relaxing stay. The access is on the alleyway south of New York Avenue, easy with a number code. The manager is very responsive.
