I have stayed here many times and usually have an excellent experience. However, this time it was not so great. The plumbing needs some work. Our toilet did not work and I assume because we didn’t get to the hotel until almost 11 PM but we didn’t staff wasn’t working. Therefore someone did not show up to the room until 12:30 AM. Housekeeping, or somebody should check to make sure the toilets are flushing when they review the room. Apparently that did not happen. I also saw some hairs on the lampshade in the bedroom. I had a suite. The bathroom was really small in the suite. I would likely not due a suite again. We were awoken at 7 AM on Saturday either due to construction or just loud noise. We faced the alley, which was not a nice view at all. You would think they would give me some sort of preference or about around after how many nights I’ve stayed there this year.!

It was the worse place I’ve ever been. I spent days trying to contact the property, they never responded. I called them several times, and when they finally answered, they were extremely rude and not helpful. In the room, the bed and the bathroom were both dirty. It was a warm weekend going up to 87°F and the AC instead of cooling the room down it was making it HOTTER! Worst place I’ve ever stayed in DC. I do not recommend.

Here’s a polished, compelling review you can use: --- I had a wonderful stay at The Churchill Hotel near Embassy Row in Washington, DC. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with a small refrigerator, which was very convenient. A lovely touch was the complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival—it immediately made the experience feel warm and welcoming. The staff truly stood out. Everyone I encountered was friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful in navigating the city, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The on-site restaurant is definitely worth visiting—the breakfast was delicious, and the décor throughout the hotel is absolutely stunning. It really adds to the overall charm and elegance of the space. The only downside is parking. The hotel’s parking is $70 per day, and street parking in the area is quite challenging. I ended up parking at the Hilton across the street for $55 per day, which was a bit more manageable. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again. Between the beautiful accommodations, excellent service, and great location, it was a fantastic experience.

Even though in the description it clearly states they have AC, this time of the year they do not. So with the fluctuations of Temperature and being on a higher floor the rooms are very warm. We were told to just open a window, which are not screened. Had to ask for a fan, one was not offered as a solution when I called. I was just rudely told it states on the website that they do not have AC, which is inaccurate. So if you can’t sleep in a hot room at night you may want to rethink staying here. The majority of the staff at the front will not greet you in any fashion, I always greeted them with a smile and barely would get a response. If you’re looking for a place that is within walking distance to all of the monuments this is not in a location for that. We had to Take an uber every day to and from the Main area.

The good: Location, great staff, big fridge in room that is actually cold! Molton Brown toiletries. Plenty of power sockets built into bedside cabinets and lamps. The not so good: Small room for a deluxe king, felt like it was just a standard room. Dated and a little tired. Limited channels on tv. TV cabinet had broken doors. Shower head small and grubby, low pressure. Plastic disposable cups but no glasses or rigid plastic cups for drinks. Paper cups for coffee machine. Overall it was fine for the price but struggling to demonstrate its 4* status. Oddly called my room offering an upgrade 3 days into my 5 day stay. Nice offer but timed strangely. Would I go back, probably if I got it cheap enough as I used it as a base.

We've stayed at the Churchill several times over the last few years. This was the low point. The nearby garage has closed, and there's no place to park nearby now that isn't at valet prices ($50-60/night plus tip). We parked in a permit zone overnight and used the morning grace period (until 9 where we were parked) to make it work on a monday morning. This is a better strategy for weekend nights when permits aren't necessary, and even during the week a first-offense ticket (about $35) costs less than a garage. Finally, our room (320) had a wonderful view of an oil tank outside the windows and a small parking lot beyond that. This was probably our punishment for going through expedia. At best, the Churchill is old, a little musty, and occasionally shows signs of neglect. Our toilet seat was missing a rear attachment and moved when sat upon. But the bed, shower, and hvac are always good, and we've never found the place to be noisy. It's a great location. For a night or two, that's enough. If money is no object, the Hilton across the street is a better hotel.

Great location, nice rooms though some of the furnishings have seen better days. The check-in was easy and the desk attendant was helpful. Elevators were fast. There was free coffee in the lobby in the lobby in the mornings and hot apple cider in the afternoon. There was only one thing I really didn't like - the barn door on the bathroom. It was hard to close and left a large gap between the door and the wall, so it didn't do anything to keep sound or light from the bedroom. Might as well not even have a door.

They do not have Air Condition and was never told this. Also, the beds were very uncomfortable. You could feel the springs. There is NO parking! You will need to use valet if you want to find a spot! $ 70 a day! Do not recommend this hotel for the cost!

I really appreciated how wonderful the staff is at this hotel. I had a great experience with a nice sized room. It’s very quiet which I enjoyed for sleeping. I loved the little extra room where I could work. I rate this very highly and I’ve stayed at quite a few in the surrounding area. They have a limited menu, but what I did have was good.
