"Great property in Waterbury. Very close to the Ben and Jerry's factory. The hotel is old but clean. They accept pets but very much seem like they don't want to. On making the reservation I was sent very blunt emails about pets and then on check in kind of the same attitude but overall it was fine. The property is actually great for pets, there is a big green space. Also since the hotel is old they seem to overdue the fragrance in common spaces. The continental breakfast was nice, with great customer service."

"Fabulous hosts, live next door but only see them if you need something. Super responsive. Perfect central location that is quiet despite being next to a major thoroughfare. 5th year (6th stay) and have booked for next year - our home away from home."
Secluded Family/Group Retreat with Mountain Views & private Pool or Hot Tub

"I would give more than 5 stars if I could. The property is amazingly beautiful and the house well laid out and furnished for a multi-generation family vacation. The grands (8, 9, 10) loved playing outside and inside. Enough space to get away from each other for quiet time but lots of family things to do to. We had tournaments in the game room where we lots of fun, movie night, outdoor laser tag, pool play and more. We needed another week to exhaust ourselves. When I booked the house I feared it would be a trek to get to places but Waterbury is easy (and nice) and Sherburne museum and Burlington (ECHO museum) not that bad. Any house hiccups were very quickly and satisfactorily addressed by Sibylle. The views... the sunsets over the mountain...the pond...the pool (even though a bit cool for seniors, but kids didn't mind) all good. Everything is thoughtfully done to make a great vacation for all ages."

"This property was perfect for our family of 8. There was plenty of room for all of us to be move about in the common areas and eat together at the large dining table. Outdoors, we enjoyed the hot tub, making s'mores by the fire pit, having cocktails on the deck, canoeing and kayaking on the lake, and exploring the beautiful property grounds. Eric and Francine were wonderfully helpful and hospitable hosts."

"This place is cute. The pictures the owner posts are accurate. Yes many stairs and no elevator but for those without issues walking, you’ll be fine. As on other reviews the bathroom is small and oddly set up but we had no issues. It is clean, close to everything, the beds are super comfortable. I like the charm the place has. The kitchen is very well equipped with pans and other kitchen items. Air conditioning was great and in 3 rooms. Area is also quiet at night and no concerns about rowdy neighbors. Overall this is good for a nice getaway. Ours was made up of my husband and adult son."

"This was our second stay. This property really is one of a kind. We found ourselves looking forward to our visit for months. The Waterbury reservoir is just about the perfect recreation lake, and forest around the property is just about the perfect forest.Every amenity, utensil, and kitchen gadget you could possibly want has been provided. Extensive documentation is provided.The rental is managed by Barbara, who is very friendly and helpful. She and her family are often around, but they stay out of the way and we never saw them.I really can't say enough about this. It's the sort of thing that really makes you want to buy a lake house. But there's only one like this, and it's taken. So if you want a luxurious, quiet stay by an active recreational lake, book it. You're not going to do better.One of my pictures shows the property at the center, taken from about a mile out on the water. Take a really close look at all zero of the other similar properties anywhere to be found."

"My siblings and I have rented a cabin here for about a week every year since covid forced us to leave the motel we had been using. This year there were two improvements: 1) the check-in was all electronic with text and email, 2) there was no longer a physical key, door had a number pad. The two small negatives are I missed the big soft chair that was there last year, and some of the steak knives should be retired and replaced."
