We had a great welcome and were shown to our fabulous room. Spacious and well decorated, it had a great spread of tea and coffee with real milk in the fridge! Comfortable bed and new, good quality bedding. Plenty of drawers and hanging space. Sofa and desk for daily activities. Tha bathroom had the best walk in shower setting we have seen so far! Great pub with excellent food and drinks selection. But what it made it really special was the staff, customer service was really excellent, and provided with a smile.

Me and my partner stayed here for a weekend away and it’s safe to say we loved it. The room was beautiful and so comfortable, I think we both came away disappointed we weren’t staying for longer. All the staff were really friendly and chatty and the food was delicious!

Simply fantastic

Spent a couple of very relaxing nights here, great Pub with lovely, well equipped rooms and cracking continental breakfast, didn't eat but food looked lovely, hence the busy restaurant, great selection of craft beers, ciders and spirits, all very reasonably priced. Fantastic staff who couldn't be more friendly or helpful, highly recommended & won't hesitate to return.

We received a really nice warm welcome from Jan. Check in was straight forward and easy. Jan explained where everything was and how everything worked. The property has been renovated to a really high standard with quality materials. Food is excellent, and all the staff were polite and friendly. making everyone relaxed. Very enjoyable stay. We will return.

Amazing Find

What a lovely find this hotel was. Very smart boutique hotel. Bar and staff were amazing and very attentive. Food was lovely. Room was very clean and everything was provided. Top spec toilet rolls, tea and coffee and shower gel, shampoo/conditoner. Short 10 min walk into town which is worth a look. Continental brekkie was all you could ask for and eat as much as you wanted too. Only ask would be biscuits in your room to go with the tea/coffee. Would definitely return again.

Fantastic value for money

Fantastic very for money. Very attentive staff and the room had everything I needed for the stay. Bed was comfy and room was very spacious and perfect for working on my laptop. Parking was great and the meal and drinks in the bar were top class. Would highly recommend.

Excellent experience at the Sheep and Penguin

The stay was excellent. We liked the place so much we booked a second night. Jan, Max, and Finn were are extremely helpful. The rooms were brand new and gorgeous, the showers had incredible temperature and pressure and the beds were comfy. Could not recommend more. The Pub also played good music and had an excellent selection of beers on tap.

The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable and nicely presented. Checking in and out was relaxed, we were shown to our room, they offered to carry our bags, which was great as there’s a few stairs and they booked us a table for the evening. They don’t offer breakfast, which we knew, there’s cereal in the room, but no milk, even after asking for some twice the evening before, so unable to have tea, coffee or the cereal in the morning. We ate before going out for the evening and the food was lovely, there was quite a buzz in the bar / restaurant area. It was also great for us that we could get in after hours as we were out late. All in all a lovely place to stay, convenient for the city centre, but a little pricey.

Loved this place. The decor and cleanliness were outstanding. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Great location for exploring Wells and Tucker Street car park at £4 for 24 hours was a bonus.

Excellent accommodation in Wells - superb.

Staff and welcome - superb, friendly and efficient at all times - absolutely faultless. Room and premises - welcoming, clean and very comfortable. Food, breakfast and dinner - the Continental Breakfast was excellent and very nicely presented. We also had dinner in the bar/restaurant and that was good, well-presented and delicious. Parking - there is no parking but we simply used a nearby Morrisons and paid a modest price for parking there using the JustPark app. All in all, superb, we will be back.
