"The Chateau Lacombe has seen better days. It’s time for a serious update. It was very convenient being downtown and the staff were amazing. We had a beautiful view of the river. Other than that, it was like a cheap motel with an elevator. Rooms are dated, plumbing issues (leaky taps/cold tap would slowly turn down so water became hot) pillows/blankets were cheap, our mini fridge froze our leftovers and no microwave, we weren’t told about the free breakfast, and our towels were clean but stained. I also don’t think guests should pay $25 a day for a dodgy lot as a guest. The staff were very nice and friendly which made up for everything else. I was also surprised the elevator didn’t have security access being downtown. There are better places to stay for the same price. Feel bad for the Chateau - it used to be very nice."
