Cottages in Westfjords

"We highly enjoyed our stay. It is a small cabin and was tight for 4 adults, but we made it work with leaving a bit of our luggage in the car. Clean, small basic kitchen and BBQ that worked for us. Be aware you are very far out there. There is one restaurant but it was not open when we were there (opens June) and one very small convenience store (with a cut local coffee shop)--but I am not sure the hours are set. Best to make sure you bring your food and be prepared. There are a couple of nice hikes and the pools are amazing. It is quiet, no, or little human sounds. Road is unpaved and narrow in places with a drop off the side, that didn't bother us, but could disturb some."

"Nice clean room and an outdoor sauna and hot tub. Breakfast was waffles and an assortment of cereals, meat and cheese slices, hard boiled eggs etc. "

"Wonderful! We stayed 2 nights while we explored the area. The service and accommodations were exceptional. We had a family room and even with the sofa bed pulled out it was very spacious. Breakfast and dinner were both very good."

"Spacious rooms with wonderful staff who were incredibly accommodating. Great little bar and restaurant with good food and breakfast. This place felt wonderfully remote and away from it all. During our stay there was construction going on out our window which is the only negative for our time there. "

"Excelent stay at Country Hotel Heydalur, they mean the country part. Its set on a working farm, so icelandic horses are just around the corner from your room. 2 geo pools of different temps and another pool inside a greenhouse to help wind down a day. There is also a natural geo pool across the river, which normally is easily accesed but at this time the staff described as "complicated" due to river being so high, but was able to get to by crossing shin high water in certain spots of the river. Excelent dining options youre able to pre order and arrive at the set time for. The breakfast also had many options to start the day on. Cant reccomend this place enough if youre traveling the westfjords!"

"Lovely little guest house with simple breakfast in nice upstairs cafe. Could use some hanging hooks and small mirror in main room to compensate for tiny bathroom."

"We loved our 2 night stay in this small fishing village. The staff were amazing! We were able to use their laundry facilities at no charge. Breakfast was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the heated bathroom floor!!!!"
