Westleton Heath is full of blooming heather in summer, but now in September the heather is nearly out of bloom but it still looks lovely. Lovely spot for dog walking but you must keep them on a lead until August to protect the variety of birds nesting.

October is the most exciting time of year to watch our deer as they engage in fierce mating battles. The three largest species of deer (red, fallow and sika) all rut in the autumn and the red variety is in Westleton.

Rutting activity is most intense soon after dawn, though some activity occurs throughout the day. Deer are interesting to watch because their behaviour changes as the rut progresses.

But remember that male deer are pumped full of testosterone and highly aggressive; in parks, attacks on dogs are not uncommon and sometimes people are also injured. So don’t get too close.

"There is no denying that this is a beautiful apartment which has been furnished to a high specification and we enjoyed our stay here. However due to COVID we were asked to check in 2 hours later so that the apartment could be "deep cleaned". We therefore didn't expect to find dirty cupboards, crockery and cutlery. We cleaned these ourselves but found Air Manage Suffolk very difficult to deal with. In addition, beware that the railway line and in particular the level crossing with it's very loud...

"Two - bed in bedroom is very high.we found it very hard as we two old ladies,toilet is very low so again hard to use.The door to get into the apartment is hard too turn ,we had to ask for help at times.we enjoyed our stay but for us it spoiled our holiday a bit."

We were welcomed by a lovely gentleman,wish I had asked his name ,he was so nice ,all through our stay he asked if we were ok ,did we need anything,was great. The food is amazing,generous portions ,breakfast was so yummy . Friday night was music night,weather was lovely,place was packed ,I would certainly recommend this hotel,can’t fault anything,the owner has done a fantastic job keeping it nice and friendly with the locals,decor is stunning,I have one complaint though we had to come home ! "Great location and the sea view room we had was lovely with high ceiling and huge windows. The room-darkening curtains kept us cool in spite of the heatwave and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and even our dog was made to feel welcome in the dining room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon."

"Fantastic stay in the Hatfield Lodge Room 2 was great, spacious, quiet, clean. The shower room was lovely large, i feel it maybe a cleaning product used but it seem to leave the floor very slippery and the shower could do with some anti slip texturing on the tray and a handrail for safety. Only down side needs plugs next to the bed. Apart from those points would happily stay again. "
