We were left just standing at the bar for 5 minutes without even being acknowledged until one of the waitress came off the floor to take our order, felt slightly uncomfortable like we weren’t welcome. "Check-in was quick and staff were polite and helpful. Double room is very compact so only really comfortable for one person, but is quiet with good aircon. Although no kettle is provided you can get drinks from the vending machine in reception, including hot water. This hotel is next to high street shops so it's easy to buy food or eat out. There is a bus stop close by which is convenient for getting in and out of the Oxford. "

"The young lady on reception has very poor customer service. She is condescending and rude, she was to me and other guests. The room was not vacuumed at all and filthy. Uncomfortable mattress. "

We did find our room too hot and there was a droning noise on and off all night which wasn’t related to the room itself. We mentioned it to the staff on check out and they immediately said they’d investigate. Excellent customer service throughout our stay. "
