What a charming cottage! Warm and inviting and ready to go. The location was nice, close enough to things to do, but isolated enough to enjoy tranquility.
We were definitely excited to stay here, but even more excited when we pulled up to the space. It’s very private, serene and comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing outside by the water, using the boat for fishing and cooking in the well stocked kitchen. The space is clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back!
Had a great experience and is a beautiful location. It’s just remote enough for privacy but close enough to multiple activities and sightseeing spots. Well maintained, clean, and easy communication with the owners. We even saw fresh water jellyfish in the lake; don’t worry they don’t stink and are only the size of a quarter, completely harmless. Campfires by the lake at night were a perfect way to end the day.
the inland lake was so peaceful! went fishing in the row boat!! the cabin was very clean. The communication was frequent, specific and spot on.
very smooth, simple and a perfect getaway
we decided to rent the old movie " On golden pond " during our stay.. seemed appropriate !
Just returned home from a wonderful week at a wonderful cabin in a wonderful location. Rainbow's Promise was adorable, sparking clean and stocked with everything we needed inside (bed linens, towels, kitchen items, toaster, coffee maker, microwave). Additionally, the property was set up for a relaxing stay with a charcoal grill. great firepit, chairs, rowboat (with oars and life jackets) and even a clothesline. We brought our own kayaks and loved launching from the dock. The location was just lovely and conveniently located about 15 miles from Munising MI. There are two small general stores just a bit south of the cabin on Forest Road 13 for essentials. Midland General Store also has an ice cream counter, operated by the friendliest folks! There is a Dollar General on the way to Munising and a full service grocery store in town. We loved visiting some of the numerous water falls in the area and hiking the beautiful trails in the Hiawatha National Forest. We had wonderful trips on Pictured Rocks Kayak Cruises and the Glassbottom Shipwreck Tour. The owner was very easy to communicate with and check in/out was seamless. She even left us a welcome treat. I highly recommend this location to folks who want to experience the Upper Peninsula and visit the amazing Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
The propery was beautiful and somewhat secluded. A perfect location to relax and get away. Close to hiking and the beautiful Lake Superior shoreline. The best of all worlds. We had a wonderfully relaxinf stay
Cottage is adorable is well equipped. Very quiet, with a beautiful view of the little lake. Short distance to many wonderful sites in the Pictured Rocks area.
The cabin was cozy, comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed for a relaxing family vacation. The kids had a great time playing on the dock and fishing. We enjoyed the privacy and not being on top of other cabins or houses and the lake was so quiet! Plus day trips to Lake Superior and Lake Michigan were so convenient! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
What a view! This quaint, rustic cottage boasts a gorgeous view of the lake from its living room window. It is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We spent our days exploring Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, chasing waterfalls and seeing local sights. Our evenings were spent sipping wine by a fire in the beautiful stone fireplace. My husband enjoyed fishing from the dock in the mornings. We would book this cabin again if we returned to the area.
The cabin was as advertised and more. Situated in Hiawatha National Forest, this cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing trip to the Upper Peninsula. It was a short, 15 min drive to Lake Superior and Pictured Rock Lakeshore. The cabin itself was clean and roomy for a couple. The owner also provided clear instructions for the house and great recommendations for town.

Cute little cabin surrounded by mosquitoes
The outside features can’t be accessed due to massive swarms of mosquitoes. We literally ran to and from vehicle to avoid them with no success. Deck wasn ’t assembled. Very quiet and clean.

Nice place but needs some attention.
Check in process was made way more difficult than it needed to be. We rented through VRBO but then was emailed a contract by the owner. A lengthy contract, then she added the pet fee that was included in the VRBO rental. Place needs attention was not very clean. Beds are in horrible shape. Had to clean it ourselves as it was not clean at all.
The picture and description of property match perfect. The house was cute and cozy and perfect for what we needed. Communication with the property manager was great and there were no real issues. My only 2 complaints that stopped me from giving 5 stars is the master bed was very uncomfortable, it was very firm and seemed worn out. We actually went and bought a mattress topper so we could continue to sleep in it as well as larger sized cooking pans were not available. It made quit difficult to cook for 4 people, but we managed. The guests that stayed in the loft beds had no real complaints. Other than that the property is clean and well taken care of.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this property in mid-August. The cabin is very cozy, well-decorated, and had everything we needed for our stay (towels, kitchen utensils, ect.). The property itself is beautiful and very private. Town Lake is a no-wake lake, so it was very quiet and we felt as if we had the place to ourselves. The property’s dock was underwater during our stay due to high water levels, but Lisa warned us about this in advance. Looking at previous reviews, it seems that this has been an issue in prior years. Hopefully the property owners will upgrade this feature if it continues to be a problem.
The location of the property is perfect if you plan to explore Munising and/or Pictured Rocks (about a 20 minute drive), but still want a Northwoods lake cabin experience. Would highly recommend this property to others, and consider visiting again the future!
Great little cottage! Our son loved the loft.
SO nice having a washer and dryer since we did quite a few adventures, hikes, etc.
Very nice quiet lake. Caught lots of fish.
Put my own trolling motor on the row boat and it was perfect for that lake. Saved me towing something.
Owners/managers were great to deal with.
Loved everything.
The cabin and setting were exactly as advertised and were wonderful. The cabin isn't huge but had plenty of space for our family of 4 and dog to join. The cabin was very clean/uncluttered, the location was great (right by Munising, an hour from Marquette, etc.), and the location was wonderful (quiet, remote, etc.). If you are looking for a place to unwind on a nice lake, with access to the Superior shoreline, and a great owner to work with - this is a place to definitely consider!
Rainbow's Promise cottage was the perfect escape from the chaos of daily life. Situated in the middle of Hiawatha National Forest on a small lake and adjacent to hiking trails, it provided the solitude and natural environment we were looking for. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, golf club, and downtown Munising are only a short drive away. The cottage itself was well-kept and comfortable. We will definitely go back!
The property was great! Everything was exactly as described in the listing. We really enjoyed making s’mores in the indoor fireplace (it was raining so we didn’t use the outside one) and the distance from town made it easy to find places to eat or to get to Munising and Pictured Rocks. The management company was great and very helpful. Would definitely go back!
Our family hugely enjoyed our time here! We are big fishermen so we couldn't of been happier with the bounty of fish the lake provided us. We stayed one week and caught 30 bass 12"-17" 4 pike and a ton of pan fish. We kept enough for one dinner and released the rest this was a wonderful lake.
The cabin was very clean and provided everything we needed. Highly recommend!
Cabin was very nice. Great location, quiet, clean,Convenient to sight seeing, everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Would of liked to sit out on dock but high water levels prevented that. Mosquitos were bad........that’s Michigan for ya. We had a wonderful stay. Would recommend to my friends and possibly visit again. Lisa the property manager was great checking in.
The cabin was great, very clean & well equipped. The location was great; close to everything we wanted to do (hiking, pictured rocks, etc) yet peaceful and very beautiful...we really enjoyed sitting by the lake.
I recommend arriving during daylight hours as the directions are a little confusing making the cabin hard to find. Also the dock is a little rickety so becareful.
Lisa at Hiawatha Hideway was responsive but warning this property management company is a pain to deal with; we wanted to stay 5 nights but only had the option of staying 4 nights or 7 nights and there was no flexibility when we inquired which meant we had to change our plans. Also they charge extra for every little thing including a couple hundred dollar cleaning fee. It also takes 2+ weeks to refund your security deposit.
Additional Recommendation: more clear driving directions once you turn on Townline Road and directions on using direct tv.
