"Everything was amazing, the food the room and the service. One very minor flaw. On our second and last morning I didn't fancy another of the pubs excellent full English breakfast so asked for porridges and a sausage bap. I was told that I was only allowed one item off the menu even though I feel the cost of my preference was less. The waiter offered to go and enquire if my request could be granted but I refused his offer saying I would go for the full breakfast which he said "was probably best""

"Love the old antiqueness but spotlessness of the property alsao loved the huge wonbderful Breakfast i was full till suppertime thank youy Oakham and England for ytour kindness hope to come again i came from Canada"

"Stayed here many times but disappointed the room (carpet) didn't look clean, bathroom, this is only room with a bath and this will be the third time I've had this room and the bath taps don't work you can only use the shower. Previously I've had water in the room but not this time. Didn't look like the tea, coffee, etc. had been topped up"

"Lovely hotel, staff were fantastic and room was cleaned to an okay standard. We stayed for 2 nights and our room wasn’t cleaned, tea/coffee not replenished, no fresh towels, toilet rolls not replenished resulting in me having to call reception for more. That was the only downside to the stay"

"Very welcoming, great room, lovely outdoor space and good service. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. We ate dinner, breakfast and afternoon tea at he hotel and all were excellent. Thank you!"

"Lovely bedding comfy bed outstanding grounds The food served in the restaurant was fantastic The hotel is a wonderful place to visit only downside was the bathroom needed an update and carpet in bedroom was stained we would definitely visit again it’s like staying in a hotel with its decor and fancy swag and tails curtains just like it used to be 30 years ago very old school "
