"We loved our stay here, it was so near to whitby centre. The room was good, a negative is no where to dry towels. We had to ask for more coffee and sugar, as we were staying three nights. We will recomnend a stay at Penny Hedge. Staff could not do enough for us , all very friendly and polite. We will come again now we know of the hotel . Caroline and Laura were helpful , we rang because we could not quite find your location on our sat nav. staff helped us on this matter and then found you quickley. kind regards to all at penny Hedge. "A lovely place to spend Christmas, fully equipped to be able to cook a traditional dinner. The cottage is very warm, we had no need to use the wood burner, which I was disappointed about The cottage is ideally placed within reach of amenities. We visited the Abbey, church and the centre of Whitby on Xmas Eve & travelled into Sandsend on Boxing Day for a bracing walk on the beach. "

"Had a lovely 4 night stay. The room was very clean..bathroom too. Enough drawers and storage space. The food was amazing. Breakfast was lovely..good quality and great portions. Restaurant/ bar food brilliant. Food good quality..cooked and presented really well. Staff very accommodating and friendly."

"The cottage and location are perfect for Whitby. Our only issue was sizing of the bedrooms and how tight the bedroom with the twin beds was and how close to the ceiling, you basically had to be hunched over. The listing describes the bedroom as large and spacious. My 6 foot three son-in-law and my 6 foot husband did not think it was large enough. We had bets on who would bonk their head the most. My husband won with three head bunks that being said, the kitchen was gorgeous. The shower downstairs was fabulous. The upstairs bathroom was a bit tight and needs a lock, but we enjoyed our stay immensely and Whitby is beautiful. Thanks for hosting us"
