"This hotel was a very decent value for the money. I had done extensive research during our 550 mile drive and every hotel that was similar in the metro Baton Rouge area was more expensive or the available reviews made the hotel sound too risky. It was very hard to judge what places were good because the reviews were too old.
Getting back to the hotel, we had a lovely experience checking in. Very nice people and they told us they had snacks and beer for happy hour until 7 pm. But here is the main story... When we entered our room, we quickly realized it hadn't been cleaned. We dialed zero on the phone and within 7 minutes they brought us new keys to a room on the same floor which was fine. Five minutes later the manager knocked on our door. She profusely apologized and offered us some snacks from their snack area. I thought this was a super nice thing to do and kind of a game changer for forming our opinion. It's a very nice room plus we got a couple of sodas and snacks, free which probably cost the hotel just a few dollars, a win-win.
Overall, the room was very good value. Nice shower, beds were comfy, plenty of pillows. Good HVAC. Carpet was a bit old but not gross. TV was great but there were issues with the remote. ... the channel guide button didn't wo"
