"Our room was not ready at 3pm as promised, and the desk clerk, when she did check us in, kept trying to check us in as someone else. She felt bad and gave us a late checkout for 1pm on our exit day. We were taken back by the need to collect a $100 security deposit that would be refunded up to 14 days after our departure. There was a sign on the counter informing us that there was NO housekeeping and if we were in need of clean towels, we would need to bring our used towels to the front for exchanging! Sorry - but that is just a bit much for what we paid for the room. The room itself - a king suite - was roomy, The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious although the commode sits so low to the floor that you need to pull yourself up with the help of the sink counter. When we arrived, there was a dinging sound which the room cleaner didn't care to help us find the source. We finally realized that the refrigerator had been left open and was at 68*. The blackout curtains need replaced - the outside light came through like stars - interesting but not helpful. Breakfast was "tired" and the same every day - no variation. Bread was stale. Desk clerk was slow to refill items or to pay attention to anyone. You don't want to know about the roach on the shower curtain WHILE I was in the shower. On the last day, neither key worked and two trips to the desk finally let us back in. Seems they turned it off at 8am even though we had a late checkout. Would not return. "

"I did not think anything was unique. The bed slept really well and in general the room was clean. This property was reported as a 2 1/2-3 star hotel which it absolutely wasn't. At best it would be a 2 star hotel. Shower head was not well affixed the wall. Reading lamp had a shortage. Microwave was difficult to operate. Tub was scratched and old. The location of the hotel was a bit sketchy. I would not stay here again."

"For a Kimpton I was disappointed. The hotel just seemed to be not sparking clean. In my room it took several days and a note from me to get robes that I assumed would be in the room upon arrival. When I left a note, the housecleaning brought 2 in and apologized. The 1st day the housecleaning did not replenish my washcloths and left 1 wet one in the shower. The staff at the front were very helpful and nice. Dinner was very good at Katherines."

"We stayed five days…our room was not cleaned once! We had to ask for clean towels and then, when the person brought them, he wouldn’t take the used towels because “he wasn’t allowed to do that.” My brother had no body wash in Hood shower and, Ellen my sister went to open the little box of soap on her bathroom sink, it was empty! I wanted to buy a soda and a candy bar. When I tried to play with a $20, the desk clerk said “Don’t you have anything smaller?” When I said I didn’t, he said “How about a credit card?” When i said no, he said “Well, if you can find a $10, that will be better.” So I got change from another traveler and, when I went to pay for my things, the desk clerk pulled out a cash box with plenty of change in it! My sister was told her room wasn’t cleaned “because you had electronics out.” In the lobby, loud music played continuously…so you could barely hear someone sitting just across from you. Asked for butter for the waffles, only to be told “We have to wait for it to come in…it’s a supply issue.” Really? Then they ran out of forks! Overall, a very disappointing stay and not what I’m used to at La Quinta."
