"Checkin was an issue..reception staff advised we were too early for checkin,, then told us we would have to wait or come back after 3pm however when we were waiting numerous others were checked in and rooms given...we had explained we had travelled over 300kms and just wanted to rest...they wouldnnt allocate us another room that was cleaned and eventually they advise we could pay extra to have the room cleaned early.
When we approached the reception staff at 2.30 after seeing numerous others check in we were advise that "oh your room has just become available" oddly just at the time we queried...and ..."we were just about to message you"...really disappointing as we have stayed here many times and travelled at the same time and never had a problem. Very disappointed with the lack of service, compassion and honesty.
Also many of the room amenties have been downgrade...no foxtel, only two coffee and tea sachets, no visitor information in room, cracked tiles and loose toilet seat, no soap only liquid soap, and then theres the first world ones...they removed the pillow choice menu and the pancake maker, the coffee machine wasnt working and we couldnt get poached eggs how we liked it for breakfast...View Hotel and Accor really need to restore this beautiful hotel to its past...just look after your customers and they will look after you and come back....
