Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandon Cottage. Great location - central but quiet. Comfortable beds and wonderful shower. Kitchen facilities excellent.
We stayed here over the August Bank Holiday (4 adults) and had a lovely time.
The cottage was conveniently located in a side street in the centre of Windermere with plenty of free parking nearby. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need and nearby there were shops pubs and restaurants.
Booked this cottage for a short weekend to go up Helvellyn. It was a lovely place to stay, really close to the train station and local shops and pubs but felt super private. And it was clean and cosy which we all needed after a hike! We're already planning to come again.
Extremely clean and very well equipped. Highly recommend this property especially for a family group. The only problem is parking facilities especially on a busy weekend. Ideally located right in the centre of Windermere.
2nd time we have stayed at property and cannot fault anything
Ideal location very quiet,3 good size bedrooms large kitchen with everything you need, central heating and a log burner
can highly recommend this property
Perfect location to dry off, warm up and relax folliwing a hard day walking in the rain. Great location for all local amenities.
Parking on street was not an issue.
This place was everything we needed.
Will definitely consider returning with family.
We were tucked behind a wonderful restaurant in a quiet spot yet only two minutes from buses, trains, tourist information and Mountain Goat tours. Just ideal for us! Good heat, hot water, all appliances worked well, execptionally clean and well-appointed. Our hosts were quick to respond to emails and check-in was a breeze. Would recommend to all!
Great position to explore Lake District, clean and comfortable facilities, very well situated in the High Street for shopping or eating out. The range stove is amazing.
We were lucky to get a park each night on the street nearby, otherwise would not have been so convenient for parking
Fantistic, comfortable cottage in Windermere village
This is a fantastic cottage right in the heart of Windermere village and is a real "hidden gem" being so close to the amenities yet in a quiet lane away from the main roads. It is a real “home from home” and we had a lovely stay there. We highly recommend it and hope to return - next time we will leave the car behind as the train station is 2 mins walk away and the public transport system is excellent.
The property was spotlessly clean. We were within easy walking distance of Windermere and access to other areas of the Lake District. Would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much!
The unit was clean and provided everything we needed for 2 nights. Second floor beds were comfortable (didn't use beds in basement). 3 minute walk to train station, 2 minute walk to major grocery store, lots of restaurants in area. No complaints except the lock to get into the unit was a bit tricky - could be upgraded to something a bit easier).
Extremely comfortable stay in lovely Santon Cottage
Lovely cottage in a great location with fabulous hosts. Cottage is spotless and so well looked after, really feels like home from home with everything you could possibly need. Warm and welcoming after days out walking. Beds so comfortable and lovely to relax in the front room in the evening. Children absolutely loved the basement room which is warm and nicely converted into a lovely twin room and both of the bedrooms upstairs are a great size for a cottage setting! Stone’s throw away from a lovely high street of nice bars, restaurants and shops. Couldn’t have asked for more for our long Easter weekend in the Lakes - thank you so much 🙏
This is a lovely clean and comfortable home. It is ideally suited in the heart of Windemere within walking distance of the railway/bus station and close to shops and attractions on the lake. There are walking trails close by and at least two National Trust properties in close proximity. Parking is limited, but a stay without a car hire is possible because transportation links are close by and accessible. The house itself is lovely and characterful. It was clean and comfortable. The hosts made us feel very welcome. The host is responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
