"The hotel and room we stayed in overall was good, but on the 2 days we were there the bar staff and lady who booked us in at reception appeared miserable and lacked any personality. They all looked fed up as if they didn’t want to be there. Everything they did appeared to be an effort. Nobody was willing to have a friendly chat and pass the time of day, even though they were pretty quiet. The breakfast was nice, but for coffee they only had whole milk available which I really dislike. When I kindly enquired if they had skimmed or semi skimmed at all. the lady said no and just walked off. In my opinion, the staff working there, seriously do need to improve on their personality and interaction with guests. I appreciate that their job can be demanding at times but a little smile and a general chat would make such a difference to guests and make them feel happier staying there. We paid a lot of money to stay there, and I believe that a friendly face and a smile by staff would make the experience of staying at Mayfield so much better. "

"Great location, the room I was given was excellent and had all amenities necessary, The Staff were really helpful and friendly and made you feel at ease at all times😁 The Food was incredible, a really high quality and very tasty 😋😋 I would be eating there very regularly if I didn't live so far away, Thank you 👍👍"

"We had a lovely stay at pinecone lodge.Everything we could possibly need and more, Steph has thought of everything! The lodge was immaculate.The hot tub was an added bonus that was used every day ! Site was lovely and peaceful Would highly recommend"

"We had a lovely stay at this cute cottage cozy enough for 2. It was in a picturesque area and nice and quiet. The hot tub was a lovely touch after a stressful year to relax under the stars. The cottage was well equipped, very clean and Netflix was a great bonus. We spent New Year in the Ye Olde Forge Valley pub which had good food and lovely hosts and was a short taxi ride away with a local taxi company but book ahead as he does get very busy. Sue was lovely and friendly and happy to help with any questions we had and gave us info on places of interest. We will definitely be back"

"Me and my family had a lovely time here in Oct. Upon arrival we were shown to our accommodation, given a leaflet on what times things where in and a restaurant menu. My two girls aged 6 and 13 were thrilled with the onsite pool. The private bookable hour slot for no extra charge was great. The pool is heated to a decent temperature.It is about a 20 minute drive to actual Scarborough. There is a complex about a 6/8 minute drive away with Morrisons, McDonald’s, Costa and kfc.The staff are all really friendly, accommodation was clean and very well equipped. The food in the bar and restaurant was lovely. The prices were great as well. There is no drop curb to park on the drive so you have to go up it. Could probably do with like an air dryer to hang costumes and towels or, a washing line over the bath. We would stay here again and would recommend to others."

"Lovely place, beautiful food and a really nice room and ambience. But what really made this place was the wonderful warm staff. The lady on arrival was really welcoming, the girl looking after us for food was very attentive and the gentleman who welcomed us at breakfast was delightful. Would highly recommend and will be back in future, thankyou so much!"
