"We came for the football on the Saturday and we was very impressed with the hotel, rooms were nice, decent bar, excellent breakfasts, although we didn’t eat in the hotel the menu was excellent and not overly expensive, and from what we saw people eating it looked very nice. As most hotels there always seems to be an issue with the breakfasts on a Sunday morning as they ran out of glasses for the juice, then had to wait 20 minutes for bacon, then the coffee machine ran out, but it does seem to be the norm at most hotels as this is something we always see. Having said that the young lady was running round doing her very best and was very polite and like I already mentioned the breakfast was well worth waiting for. Hopefully be back one day. "

"The Deluxe rooms do NOT feature valley views, but have a view of a busy road. So the website is misleading in this respect. Going to the spa costs extra (£35 per person per 2 hours, including only pools and sauna). So the value is only mediocre."

"Wow we had a lovely comfy and relaxing stay. We had everything we needed and the cottage was spotless(thanks Barbie I think) Ris and Simon the owners were brilliant communication before, during and since had been fantastic. The homemade honey and jam were a really special touch to the fresh eggs, bread and milk left for our arrival. The shower was brilliant and our grand daughter loved the little shampoo etc “like being in a posh hotel” she said. Lots of lovely big sift towels too! Best break we have had and perfect for our dogs too with outside seating and bbq if weather had been better but that’s uk and we did manage to sit out one evening, even though road next to us it was really peaceful. Many thanks to Simon and Rod for making us so welcome. See you again soon."

"Really enjoyed our 5-night stay at Dove House which was very cosy and welcoming to return to after our days out. We also appreciated the welcome gifts on arrival. Loved Kersey (great meal at The Bell) and Boxford. Lavenham is magical and Dedham is worth a visit. Didn’t get to meet the owners even though Dove House is on their property."

"Modern converted property nicely presented, clean and tidy. Hot tub area is covered so can be used all year round. Decent kitchen that is usable. Would stay here again. "

"We had a really wonderful stay at The Calf Pens. There was so much attention to detail that we wanted for nothing. It was clean, comfortable, extremely well laid out and had plenty of books and board games to entertain us. The owners had carefully and thoughtfully put together interesting places to visit and provided information for local pubs/restaurants. All these touches enabled us to have a relaxing stay. We loved our evening strolls around the adjoining farmland and lakes, just beyond the garden. We were lucky to see so many bats and dragonflies, plus many varieties of birds in the woods and farmland; listen out for the barking deer too! There was an array of butterflies on the buddleas in the garden with a large lawn to sit outside, or play games, or just sit, unwind and watch the sun go down. The let was tranquil and slightly off the beaten track - just what we’d been looking for, but it was close enough to Hadleigh for shopping. It was also well situated for visiting the many tourist attractions that are all over Suffolk/Essex - far too many to visit in just one week. The owners were very friendly but made every effort to ensure we had our privacy. We were so happy with our stay that we are already making plans for our return."
