Tay Bridge. Everyone knows the story of the Tay Bridge Disaster, when a train and passengers were lost. This is the bridge which replaced the ill-fated original one.
River Tay and Dundee from Wormit Hill
Tay Bridge from Wormit Designed by WH Barlow and constructed by William Arrol this 3500 metre long second bridge, built 60 feet upstream of the original bridge, opened for service in July 1887. The stumps of the original can clearly be seen in this low tide shot.
