If you are visiting Wartburg Castle, there is no better place to stay. The walk through the woods to the castle is magical. The room is decorated comfortably with quality furniture. The breakfast is full of variety with a view to match. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and were very pleased with the food and service.

The hotel was very clean. Staff was very friendly and bilingual. Room was very large and had a massive window over looking the city. No AC in the hotel but the large windows open and the cool night air was enough to cool off the bedroom at night. Would definitely stay again. The town was magnificent.

Hotel Herzog Georg is a real gem hidden in rural Germany. The size of room is larger than a standard European room and we were very happy to have 2 large size doubles for my wife and 15 yr old son. Breakfast was massive European style and quality was superb. Lots of walking opportunities around town with site seeing and hiking just a short drive away. This is the best accommodation on this ongoing trip! Beautiful lobby and friendly staff! Excellent breakfast bar and facilities! A four star lodging and convenient to rail station.

Amazing time , we loved the Porsche decoration , and to top it , they had a classic Porsche meeting the day of our stay! We will def stay again , when we are back in Germany! Super centric as well, so you can stop by on a long drive !

This was a backup choice after our 1st choice was not open for business via another booking service. It's further in the hills of Thuringia but we'll worth the drive. The rooms are well done and immaculate, the restaurant is incredible, and the staff does well with English only travelers for a remote location. If we are back in this area, I will look this one up.

New construction, excellent central location and view, Breakfast was fresh . Elevator onsite for penthouse.

Big hotel with free parking. Free breakfast in the restaurant was a definite plus with many options. Indoor swimming pool was nice also

Very close hike to town and Wartburg castle. We only used taxi from and to train station. Room was small but very comfortable. Bathroom was larger than expected.

A bit rustic in character, but spotlessly clean, quiet, and the proprietress is lovely and accommodating.
