Nice locale

Great spot but wasn't the cleanest and smelt like wet dog .could also use some maintenance but we aren't overly picky and made due. The size was great and so was the beach

Old, but functional and easy beach access

The cottage was older and hadn't been swept well. It did have a small kitchen, stocked with all the dishes and cookware we needed. We got lucky that a former manager was nearby and able to get a key code for us. We did not receive an email with the information, no one answered the phone when I called and when I emailed, I received and iutnof office message with another contact person's email address.

Quiet getaway

Quaint little cabin 5 min. from a likewise little town. Older and needs updating but had everything we needed for our 3 day stay.

Cute little cottage

The cottage was cute and clean with a great ocean view. It was a little difficult getting down to the beach since the path was muddy and slippery from the recent rain. The beach was beautiful with some tide pool areas off to the right. We didn't realize it was so far from Yachats when we booked it but the 6 mile drive is beautiful and goes by quickly. Will definitely be returning.

Beach comber cottages

the location is great, staff are friendly and helpful, although it can take a while for them to respond. Although they live on site they are not always around and you have to leave a message. The condition of the cottage we stayed at was very poor, noticeably slanting floor, very old fixtures, black mold in kitchen sink, holes & cracks in windows, no shower shelf in shower. Everything should be updated with new fixtures.

Not worth the price

Website's address was wrong got us lost. It took long to heat the place. Coffee pot was disgusting, couldn't even drink coffee in the morning. Oven was very dirty an no light. Bedding was not clean. Shower drained slow. It was a nice view to the ocean, but no worth what they charge.

Not worth the price

Cottage close to the beach, far from the world

I had stayed on that particular beach before, but couldn't remember the name of the place. So I chose Beachcomber Cottages based on location. I went in off-season, was a little disappointed that they didn't have a check-in facilitator but loved the beach, the cottage, the forest, Cape Perpetua, and everything about the location. It's awesomely beautiful.

Great location

The beach combing was great! The room was small which we already knew but it would have been more comfy if the chairs were not small and rigid. The only other seating was the bed so we brought our camping chairs in from the truck. Everything was clean except the floor, a lot of hair, dog and people, under and on the bed. Everything else was okay.

Not good

If you're looking for a cozy getaway this is NOT it. For the price I would've rather slept in a tent at the RV place next door. The room was so drafty we had to hang a blanket (luckily for us we carry extras in the car) over the door to get the room to warm up. The bed felt like an old hide-a-bed, didn't sleep at all. We paid for two nights and left ASAP after the first night. Oh, and if you stayed there before us I found your red glass pipe under the nightstand.

Great location but funky inside

The cottage is in need of upgrading. if anyone has to sleep upstairs be prepared for a lot of noise of you have people staying next door-VERY loud. Which is not the host's fault at all and we recognize that. The bathroom shower is dark and a bit grimy but fabulous water pressure and very hot water. Just wear sandles and it will be no biggie. Kitchen has everything you need. Overall it is very drafty so the extra blankets and warms pjs we brought were a good idea. However, location, location, location made up for the old and funky nature of the cottage. Right on the beach. Fabulous views and easy access to the beach where our family spent hours beach combing and watching the waves and sunset etc. Also, the host was thoughtful enough to call me and upgrade our family for free to a larger unit with better views-thanks Beth!!! We appreciated that. we would stay there again despit it being old b/c it had everything we needed and it felt safe and we LOVED the location.

Great location, but dirty

Loved the location, but the cottage wasn't clean. Many repairs are needed which is why it quickly lost it's charm. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you are looking for something one step up from tent camping.

Cheap,by the ocean,but kinda dirty..mixed feelings

The positives: Its a cheap place w/a bed or 2,kitchen & a shower(no hairdryer)& the ocean is there. It's fairly cheap but unit 1 is RT by the rd & management so kinda noisy. You can walk to the ocean via a path/stairs but its NOT ADA accessible .It's a nice quiet beach,great for looking at the nt skies. The negatives: Sign inside door has all these rules don't do this /that (hit/kick walls,run up/down stairs on unit 4 & 5..2 whole stairs..really?) States up to $200 cleaning fee will be added if you leave place a mess,my unit had a dirty oven,fridge,cupboards (they were open no doors on the bottom esp) LOADED w sand/ dirt,kitchen curtain had leftover food & stains on it,bathroom had hair from previous renter( ughh!!!!) in shower & on floors. I was stuck next to the manager who first thing early in the morning( 6:30/7 ?) is in their place banging around against walls,he comes out to his vehicle & I swear has opened & slammed shut every door on his car at least once+ !! At least if you're going to post rules for the renters..have the courtesy to follow them yourself if you want repeat customers. I made sure when I left I had cleaned up & left it EXACTLY like I found it. I do recommend you take before AND after pics in case you do get charged a cleaning fee( ie; like when you first get there & before unloading all your kids & stuff & then after everyone's out & you've cleaned up. I took pics of the bathroom,bdrm,l- rm,fridge,top & inside of stove & cupboards).

The quintessential "Beach Cottage"

This is truly a beach cottage. To me that means very close to the beach (it is), with it great view (it has it) with a down home somewhat wind-weathered feel that lets you know that this place has stood the test of time, and if it could talk it would tell of decades of families having fun on the beach. It is very reasonable priced for what you get ,and very private. Got a nice welcome email the day before telling us every thing we needed to get in. Liked that it uses the key in the drop box system so it does not matter what time you check in - nice when you are behind schedule on a road trip. The person managing n site was very chill, and let us enjoy the place. When we had to make an unexpected change and cut our stay a day short, she was great, taking care of it right sways and sending email confirmation. The beach behind the place is good fro walking or jogging and has a few tide pools on the north end. Being very near Cape Perpetua and Yachats is a big bonus. Driving up and down the coast we were so happy that we were at this spot. Great hiking and nature interpretation at Cape Perpetual and Yachats is a perfect little seaside town. Big enough to have a handful of places to eat and drink,but too large like near by Florence or Lincoln City.

We have stayed at Beachcomber cottage #5 for the 4th time. That should explain something. Its very close to wonderful beaches ( fly your kites!). The steps down to the beach was improved. Thank you. because we will be back. Accommodations are simple but really acceptable.

A Family Favorite

We have been going to the Beachcomber for years -- At first, myself and friends, then I started bringing my oldest grandkids once per summer, or sometimes twice, or.... more often!! As grandkids grew, we went a little less often, but, this year, I was able to go with my four four oldest grandkids, one grandson-in-law, and my first great-grandbaby. And the Beachcomber, though they regularly upgrade painting, furniture, floors, fixtures, etc., was in spirit and atmosphere, the same place we have always known and loved - comfortable, clean, friendly, low key and welcoming. The views are fabulous, the cottages are comfortable and clean, and it was wonderful to watch my grandkids sit around the fire pit under the stars, trading their memories of past trips ("Do you remember the time grandma climbed on the roof to get our kit?" - they remember that, I don't) ... we are so grateful that the Beachcomber continues it friendly welcoming presence - a true family tradition for us!

Beachcombers cottages Yachats Oregon

The Oregon Coast is, of course, gorgeous. The grounds of our hotel were neatly kept. While my cottage was okay in cleanliness, my daughter's, right next door, had not been cleaned at all, it seemed. There was pet hair all over and moldy food on the floor. Two of the lamps on my side did not operate properly. One ceiling light did not work at all. There were plenty of towels, soaps and hair products. We enjoyed our visit because the Oregon Coast is so very beautiful and there are many things to do. If we returned, we would look for other accommodations, however.

The only pros are that the place is clean and has access to a private beach. The pictures are misleading. For the amount paid I could have stayed at nearby resorts and maybe had the luxury of heat actually in the bathroom or the 101 not only 30 yards from my cottage. They aren't putting the money back into the property that is evident.

Quaint, quiet getaway

I originally chose these cabins because they were close to where we needed to be, not right in town, and of course, right on the ocean. I was in a hurry and didn't read the reviews first, which I always do, so when I did, I was a little worried. However, when we arrived our unit was super clean, only had a faint odor (like every other beach house), and was very cute. The bed was even fairly comfy. The view was amazing even though the windows do build up a lot of condensation, but that is an easy fix with some paper towels. We never heard any road noise either and we never even had the TV on, so it wasn't covered up. There is a fire pit outside, cute little bridge over the creek to the bluff over the beach with several benches to sit on. Then there are stairs down to the beach and tide pools. Oh, and the water that comes out of the faucet.....to die for! It's absolutely fabulous! It comes from the mountain across the street and is purified with UV light. Awesome!

Beach cabins have seen better days..

Cabin was as clean as it could be for being old. Definitely a fair deal for the price in high season, just don't expect a new place.
