"Our stay at this location could not have been better! It was a 5 Star experience in all categories! We stayed in the suite with the open air onsen and it was amazing. The staff offered the best costumer service all throughout the hotel. The food was incredible for all meals, another 5 Stars! The owner of the establishment came and spoke with us on 2 separate occasions to make sure we were enjoying our stay. This place is a total gem if you are staying in the Nagano area. "We had an amazing and relaxing 2 night stay here. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff were very kind and helpful, and the Kaiseki meals and breakfasts were great (and huge). The public and private onsens were really nice, and not crowded at all possibly because we visited during the summer. Great location to visit the snow monkey park! "

"My family enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tsubakino. We had a traditional Japanese room with a mountain view. The sunset views from our room were very nice. We also enjoyed the private onsen both nights of our stay. The temperature of the water fluctuated so the second night it was really hot and we were unable to stay in the water long. We had both the Japanese breakfast and the western breakfast. The Japanese breakfast was very impressive and it was tasty - although a bit much for the morning for our kids. So we tried the western breakfast on our second morning. It was good too. Beds were comfortable and the service was attentive and helpful. We came for the snow monkey park and while the snow monkeys didn't show up on the day we were there, I'm still happy we visited this beautiful mountain town. Would also recommend Sushiya for dinner. "

"Superb onsen experience. Our room was very clean with comfortable tatami/futon. Outdoor and indoor onsen was very pleasant as were the private onsen. Kaiseki was delicious and filling. Most of all staff and owners were very welcoming and kind. Will come back."
