Spectacular

Stunning views from this peaceful and non-traditional B&B. More like a high-end 3 room resort with a 5 star chef. Very relaxing and private. Proprietors Carolyn and Tom are extremely friendly, helpful and very professional. Will give you all the privacy you seek or share a bottle of wine while star gazing. If you've never been to this part of the world, it is a must see.

Book longer than you think

Our stay at The Grand Hacienda was nothing short of amazing! The adventure starts right when you book your stay and you get the directions to your private oasis off of the beaten path. Just finding it was a blast. The hosts Carolyn and Tom are both amazing, and have spared no attention to detail at their bed and breakfast. They are great people to talk to, and they are more than accommodating. My wife and I went there for our ten year anniversary, and we plan on going back in the future. We took full advantage of all there is to do and see during our visit. We did horse back riding through Ghost Ranch, which was educational, and overall entertaining. We rented kayaks to spend a day on the secluded lake with incredible views in every direction. We sat in the hot tub with glasses of wine, and looked at all of the beautiful landscapes as far as the eye can see. The food was incredible! I cannot stress this enough. All fresh ingredients prepared daily. Also I highly recommend you ask the hosts for recommendations on hikes. They gave us one that showed us views unlike anything else that we have ever seen, and we are well travelled. My only regret is that we didn’t have more days and nights booked. We will not make the same mistake next time.

The Grand Hacienda -a truly inspired vision.

Our few days at The Grand Hacienda, high on a mesa overlooking Abiquiu Lake and the surrounding stunning geography, were like a time apart; a place where time slows down and one is relieved, for a bit, of the noise of the world. This unique place is the product of two remarkable individuals who took the time and did the research to create a sophisticated yet down to earth, aesthetic and restorative experience. As artists (painter and architect), we deeply appreciate the "green" construction, the design and strategic siting of the building and each of its three suites, the thoughtful cuisine - creative, healthful and delicious! - the overall tone of the place, its tasteful landscaping and appointments. There simply isn't anything intrusive or abrasive in the entire experience. On the contrary, everything is designed to offer a time and space that is both stimulating and profoundly restful. Carolyn and Tom have created a jewel.
