Best place in Abiquiu!

Our week-long stay was made 10x more memorable because we stayed at The Grand Hacienda. Each morning started with a hearty and healthy breakfast served with care by the hosts Carolyn and Tom. They made a space for guests to get to know each other as well as rest and relax in beautiful solitude. The property is set in a very private location with views overlooking Abiquiu Lake and the Pedernal - you couldn't take a bad photo if you tried. The accommodations were top notch and very comfortable - they took great care in designing and building the hacienda! We look forward to coming back again to explore more of New Mexico!

Beyond Expectations

For an adventure that we planned just a day or two before our arrival in Abiquiu, the Grand Hacienda somehow provided us with one of the most memorable 24 hours of renewal in recent memory. From the moment I first reached out with question after question, owners Carolyn and Tom had a way of making us feel like friends they had known for a very long time. And after our stay, we felt like family. Although the accommodations and views were as fine as any we've experienced during our many travels over the years. what made this experience extra special was the love that the hosts put into everything they do - from the meals to the guidance on not-to-miss local sights to the attention for every detail in design of the property and the amenities. Carolyn and Tom are special people who have created an amazing luxury retreat from the non-stop hustle most of us have become accustomed to. Thank you to both for so generously sharing your love for all things beautiful. Without a doubt, we will be back!

Not just a place to stay....but an experience..

This is a new property just opened in 2020, but Tom and Carolyn obviously had a lot of experience and Tom designed a masterpiece that perfectly showcases the beauty of the area around it. Quiet and plenty of privacy. A kitchenette was well equipped for preparing your own lunches and dinners. Don't miss the outstanding breakfast though which highlights local flavors and includes herbs from their own garden. There is a long list of things to do in the area including Ghost Ranch, hiking, Stream Trains, Santa Fe and much more. Stargazing at night. Tom and Carolyn are gracious hosts, both eager to help, but respectful of your privacy. A memorable stay.
