Icelanders have spent generations breeding their horses (the only type of horse allowed in the country) to withstand Iceland's unpredictable, and often bad weather and to be able to walk easily through the country's uneven, rocky terrain. They have a thick coat, are very friendly, and have two unique gaits, called tölt and flugskeið. You see them everywhere in the countryside, even more than cows!

"This is a really nice property; clean and well equipped. My only complaint was it was boiling hot when we arrived. It was a warm day already (perhaps unusual for Iceland?) but the little house was sweltering and it was difficult to get a cross breeze as only 2 small windows could be opened. It was uncomfortably hot for about 3 hours (we even propped open the door to try to get the hot air out). Except for the heat, I was happy with this accommodation. Great location. "

"非常不好的經驗和不聞不理的溝通過程！提前兩個月使用app訂房的，明明看到顯示有空房才下訂，之後也收到確認信，結果一直在入住的前兩個禮拜發現屋主傳訊息要求取消該訂單，因為那個時間已經有其他人預定了，但我根本沒有收到屋主傳訊息給我的通知！！之後是試著透過app聯絡屋主了解狀況，都沒有得到回應，向平台反應也都沒有得到回應，後來因為疫情無法入住要取消，寫信給平台跟屋主同樣沒有得到回應！真的是很差的經驗！！！"

"This was a guesthouse where we were greeted by the owner as we drove up. She showed us our room, which was clean and comfortable. She also made wonderful pancakes for breakfast for everyone, it felt like a family meal. I would recommend to anyone wanting something other than the sterile hotel room experience. "

"The Barn is a lovely hostel and I highly recommend if you are wanting to stay in the area! The building is very modern and beautiful on the inside and out. The common area is very large with a huge kitchen and plenty of seating. The rooms are a little small but we were only staying one night so it wasn’t a problem. The bathrooms are spacious and the shower is great. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a gorgeous view of mountains and the beach behind the Barn! "
