The food was excellent at this property. Chef Livingston prepared great food full of flavor. You could tell that he enjoyed his job. The property was very clean and the staff were very personable. I really appreciated the hotel’s efforts to sustainability.

Hotel Verde, stayed there for 8 nights, What a great Hotel, very friendly staff, great rooms, but its still under construction, and they are still training their employes. We would love to get back to Hotel Verde and Zanzibar In all we had a super vacation with our familly

This hotel is beyond what I expected . So much luxury and very beautiful interior decorations. Every staff here was so nice , I was given a complimentary upgrade . The food here was more than Amazing . This is definitely a go to if you’re visiting Zanzibar city or stone town

The staff was fantastic and very nice. The only issue might have been wanting a cold beer to go with dinner, as Zanzibar is VERY hot. I don’t they serve alcohol there?

Location was okay

Room was nice except the AC broke on our last night which was difficult to sleep. Food was ok, didn't have all the options the website offered. Coffee cafe was not even open.

The staff was very nice. The food was good. The rooms were nice. Our only complaint was that we paid for three nights at over $300 a night but when we departed after two nights, the hotel refused to refund us for the last night. We’ve never had that happen before and it certainly soured our experience there. It would definitely make it difficult for us to refer it to other people.

Very Mixed Feelings about this place Brand new resort, however it lacks big time in its management.. Food was below average. Logistics still needs time it seems or reform. Don’t get me wrong would love to come back once these small minor but crucial problems are solved. It has. The potential to be the best hotel around.

For the cost of the rooms, the hotel is just not a very good value. Overall communication was lacking (we were not informed of a conference that would mean we could not even access the lobby, for example!), pool has very limited hours compared to comparable hotels I’ve stayed around the world, and the overall environment leaves a lot to be desired (“waterfront” area immediately adjacent to hotel has empty containers, piles of old tires, construction equipment, etc.). Room was fine - clean and safe.

Pros: Beautiful grounds and resort overall. Very esthetically pleasing to the eyes. The rooms were clean. Cons: Review for hotel verde…. For the price of the resort there’s a few things that did not sit well with us… 1. Forced to participate in gala’s/food buffets for the holidays (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve). This is not advertised, you are emailed about 1 week prior to arrival. 2. The Gala’s are mandatory on 12/24/24, 12/25/24 & 12/31/24 which is fine; it’s extra and they do not say this when you book! They send an email leading up to arrival about it being “compulsory.” Flight was changed which meant arrival to the resort was close to midnight when the gala was over on 12/24/24; had to ensure upon check in not to be charged because we were told it’s mandatory. I emailed them in advance when I found out the flight was changed. No response. 3. For 12/31/24- it’s mandatory for all in-house guests but there was no space for us! You know it’s mandatory, you know we are going to be charged but all tables are booked and they didn’t say “you have to book in advance.” We had to explain this to a woman and she was beyond rude, then a second woman was nicer she helped and we were able to go off grounds and eat without being charged. 4. Requested assistance because a strong odor that smelled like sewage and feces from next door room came into our room. Told they would come see, no call and visit to the room. If this is 5 stars I do not want it! Will not stay again!
