We stayed at Tulia for 5 days following a safari. The resort was amazing but the best part was the staff. They did everything they possibly could to make our stay the best it could be. We arrived for our honeymoon and it was simply a dream! Very unique and one of a kind hotel in the middle of stone town. Surely you can settle for comfort and choose Hyatt but you can do that anywhere in the world. Emerson Spice is a truly exceptional hotel with a very attentive staff. You will be wowed!

If you're the type of traveler who eats at McDonald's in other country's, then this property is probably not for you, but if you want to immerse in the local culture, its fantastic. Make sure you specify a bathroom in your room, unless you're ok with sharing, and make sure you arrange for a pickup at the airport for transportation to the hotel. The hotel has a very quiet and enjoyable beachfront. The property is spacious so you don't feel that there are other guests. The buildings are very well maintained and the food is godd and reasonably priced. The bungalows are not air conditioned so it might get a bit warm during the very humid months (April and May). Overall a great stay. Definitely recommended !

The service at the Neela was unparalleled. The staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful, but never fawning or in the way. Make sure to visit not only their downstairs cafe, but also their rooftop restaurant. Highly recommend.

This was my first hotel in Zanzibar and I would return in heartbeat to stay longer. The aesthetic was relaxing, the owners were present and enjoyable to visit with. The food was DELICIOUS!! It was quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. The waters are somewhat shallow on the beach in the morning and then rise as the day continues. Be sure and wear water sandals or footwear with a hard sole. Stayed here for one week and enjoyed it. The hotel is on a fairly busy beach in Stone Town. Breakfast was excellent, dinners were sometimes good and sometimes not but the salad bar was great. It is safe to walk around Stone Town with plenty of restaurants, souvenir shops, fruits and spices for sale. I celebrated my honeymoon on June 8th at Lux and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. In fact, I plan to return next year at the same time. I hope to see Grace, who works at the reception. Deluxe Apartment Sea Facing- 10/10. Clean. Great size. Quiet. Excellent view. First floor, so avoided noisy neighbours above us. Decent, but small safe. A/C worked well. Bathroom - 10/10. Clean. Lovely shower. Bed - 10/10. Very large. Very comfy. Mozzy nets and turn down service at night. WiFi - 10/10. Very good, considering where we were. Very friendly staff settled in a beautiful surrounding. Great pool, and everything is so clean. We felt really looked after. How ever, it said in various sites that there is a beach here, it is, maybe 25 sq meter in total, but with no acces to the sea, there is a very large ref.

A beautiful white sandy beach and well maintained hotel is the core of this lush resort. Supported by a very friendly staff and competent management guarantees a great experience. When you book a hotel you always read reviews with a pinch of salt. This hotel has fantastic reviews and with good reason. Everything from the welcome to our departure was absolutely first class without exception. A few members of staff deserve a special mention - Bernard, Mtoto, Nema and Baracka all helped make our stay extra special. The staff in general are exceptional including the kitchen staff who turn out superb food time after time and catered to my wife’s vegetarian requirements...

We loved our stay at Kholle House in Stonetown. The hotel was Beautiful and the perfect escape to after a long day exploring. All The staff was fantastic in helping us get the arrangements prior to arriving and then helping us with a couple of the activities we wanted to do. We highly recommend.

Amazing service, and nice staff. It felt like a community and I was able to meet people from all around the world and we all started hanging out and doing activities together. I will definitely visit again.
