"I was booked on AL staff are exceptional from the receptionist, porters to waiters. They ensured that our stay was comfortable. They are very friendly, ever smiling and ready to assist when called upon. There was variety of food and entertainment, Zanzibari night was my best. I will come back again and again."

"We loved having a 3 bedroom suite with a living area and private baths for all. So nice to be all together yet in our own space, The food was good and the service was too! Unfortunately the property isn't licensed. That's the only hesitation I would have on returning."

"Vi havde generelt et godt ophold. Servicen var god, og de ansatte var imødekommende og kommunikerende. Værelset var fint, og AC virkede upåklageligt. Eneste minus var badeværelset, som var uden afskærmet brusekabine og bestemt ikke lever op til standarden for et godt hotel. Hotellet har god beliggenhed helt ned til havet, og stranden er dejlig og umiddelbart mindre turistet end andre steder på Zanzibar. "

"This a great hotel, suitable for those on a budget. It is really laidback and peaceful and great for anyone looking to get away from the stresses of everyday life. This is the second time my husband and I have used this hotel and since our last visit there is a welcoming new reception area. The rooms are clean and spacious. Would recommend this hotel to others. "Excellent location. We had money go missing from our room. Check in was very impersonal and after a full days travel we were required to line up again to fill out an pay the government tax, surly this can be done anytime during the stay. The person who took us to our room gave us no information about the place room wise or resort wise. They talk a good service ethic but as far as I was concerned service was non existent. Overpriced for the standard of the overall experience. To make the stay...

"Great hotel at the beach. Nice staff and great facilities. Breakfast and diner were very good. We had a great time relaxing and lying on the beach. There is not much to do in Uroa, but the hotel offers a lot of great excursions to explore Zanzibar (though they are a bit pricy)."

"We had a small but nice room with ocean view and a veranda with direct access to the beach. Clean room, comfortable beds and aircon. The manager, Jamal, and his staff are extremely nice, friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant serves fresh fish and shellfish and other tasty dishes."

"hotel is beautiful, rooms are great and the staff is excellent (perhaps some English language weakness BUT nothing significant). Area around the hotel is not super walkable BUT it is not far from Stone Town (20 minute taxi ride - US$10 to US$20). View from top floor restaurant is amazing and the food is pretty good. I would recommend highly. i would stay here again."

"I really enjoyed my stay here at The Emerson Spice Hotel. The rooms are clean and decorated nicely keeping the old feel of this historic building. I liked the old fashioned door style of the Camile Room. Which doesn’t use keycards like most hotels. You use a huge big padlock 🔐 to secure the door. All the staff were very nice and friendly. The only thing you need to be aware of is there is no elevator. All stairs only, so be prepared to get some stair exercises during your stay. LOL! 😃 "

"Awesome location and view of the Indian Ocean. From our balcony we had direct view of the beach and the ocean. The room was spacious, with nice and comfortable furniture, and bedding. Very nicely decorated. Very clean and one of the best stays that we had. Staff were super nice and accommodating. We loved having drinks and appetizers outside on the deck. Live music added to the very pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely stay here again. "
