Total Nightmare Scam!!!

DO NOT BOOK this place! SCAM!!! Property host was very communicative leading up to the stay and assured me the keys were ready at the reception check in upon arrival. As soon as we were checking in the property reception said they did not have the keys nor a reservation under our name. Because it’s a third party booking we were left trying to reach the host who ghosted us and VRBO could not reach the host either. A note was left in the VRBO system that “we the traveler canceled the this booking .. apparently the same day of our arrival”.. which was not true! We had made sure our booking was still good to go leading up to our travel date. There wasn’t a cancellation reference number in the system that VRBO could give me… nor did they say how the cancellation was made and the name of the person who canceled. We were stuck 7 hours away from home in the snow with no place to stay on a busy holiday weekend. VRBO was no help. Will never book through this site again. Although we got the small refund back from VRBO we never got the full amount back from the host charges so we had to dispute it on our credit card. This was an awful experience that ruined our family trip!
