On the positive side, the rooms are big, as are the bathrooms, the location is fine, ten minutes walk to the beach and a couple of minutes to the bus stop into Galle, pleasant surroundings with the occasional monkey sighting and plenty of stripy squirrels. Breakfast was OK and the family friendly. When we arrived only two of our three rooms had a towel. Safes were on the tables but not secured so...

"The pictures are not a true reflection of this property. It has the potential to be a very lovely hotel but it is run down and falling apart. The rooms were dirty especially the bathroom. There wasn't a mosquito net for the bed. Service for breakfast was very slow. The pool looks like it needs a good clean. I couldn't even get into it. "

"The guest house looked very nice and on the second floor was the breakfast tables but we had our room on the ground floor and the room was very dark and the bathroom was old. There was not a lamp near the bed so you could not read in the evening. The host family was very friendly and we used e.g. the washing service."

"I am Japanese. I was able to make some very good memories at Hikkaduwa. The hostel is clean and close to the beach and restaurants. I also liked the friendly staff. There is also a barber shop on site. I also got a haircut. Skills are high. thank you. I will stay this place again next time. Don't tell the Japanese people."
