"This property definitely needs to be updated with their window coverings, linens, towels and mattresses. They were extremely old and needed to be replaced.
It looks like they updated the furniture, but failed to continue updating the most important parts of a motel room!
Unfortunately, we would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone."
"We had a good stay at this hotel and would recommend it, especially during peak season. I would definitely suggest booking a room on a higher floor with an unobstructed ocean view, as the view is well worth it.
That said, the hotel feels somewhat dated, and we noticed some peeling and chipping paint on the ceiling. One area that could use improvement is housekeeping. The hotel does not offer housekeeping service during the stay, which was inconvenient. I believe guests should have the option of...
"This motel should be closed down…it is in need of desperate repair. The shingles on roof are caving in, our floor upon stepping into our room sunk down, the carpet is old and tattered and is used for a baseboard. The room heat was provided by a standing portable device that turned off in the night and we awoke cold. There was an ancient wall unit that appeared rusted. The bathroom was so small that the space between the pink toilet and sink allowed for one to use sink while sitting on toilet....
"Pros: One mile from downtown Bar Harbor, eight minutes from Cadillac Mountain, bathroom clean and great water pressure, beds super comfortable and clean, huge TV selection, wide and sturdy staircase to second floor, heat worked great.
Cons: Gaps in door frame let a beetle come in and let in a lot of light and sound. No locks on the front windows (doubt anyone else noticed but no rooms technically secure). If fully booked, not enough parking for all guests (so we were back by 6 every...
"Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We were in walking distance for restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again."
"The property is beautiful and you can see the ocean from the property, and possibly from your room depending on your booking. The balconies in the ocean view room we had were semi private which was great. Our room was very clean and they did mild management each day we were there to tidy it up.
One of my favorite things was that they had a surge protector in the room to mitigate plugs! It was also far enough out of town you can really see the stars! Would stay again!"
"It was well maintained. Very clean and the all day snacks and drinks were wonderful! The staff was all great and super friendly. We asked for towel service after a day bc they instruct you to ask as they don’t automatically check your room- they brought towels and made the bed took out trash, all things we didn’t ask for. I would recommend the little fig and will come back!"
"It's situated right in the heart of Bar Harbor. It is an absolutely lovely hotel. Nice, large clean rooms. Our trip to Bar Harbor was fabulous, capped off with our stay at this really lovely hotel. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, and their breakfast was fantastic. I can't wait to come back!"
