"We attended a wedding at Friars Carse over 20 years ago and as it was a convenient stop on our way to the highlands, thought we would try it again. I was afraid it may not have aged well but it is actually even better than I remembered. It is a beautiful place to stay, housekeeping is excellent, staff are helpful and discreetly friendly and it is just so relaxing. We stayed in Redwood which I believe is the honeymoon suite and nothing could be more idyllic. Very much looking forward to future...

"Good- All the Staff are friendly and helpful Bar and restaurant areas are all decorated lovely Really great location just next to harbour and good view Good choice of food for breakfast and ordered and served to the table. Coffee and tea Fruit juice Cereal or tinned fruit Full English Toast Or crumpets All the general areas, toilets and bedrooms very clean Not so good- Our room needs redecorated ( room 6) Large stain on carpet and many marks on walls with very old shabby curtains...

"Lovely staff, always friendly and helpful. We had a couple of issues which were quickly and efficiently dealt with. Be aware, if travelling with older people you may want to book an executive room which are located on the ground floor, it being an old building other floors can be difficult! Breakfast was also lovely, even catering for my Vegan tastes! Thank you all again!"

"Exceptional location, very quiet surroundings. Clearly did not have enough staff in the evening. For a long time in the evening there was one person doing the bar with several customers and having to waiter on about 10 tables"

"Room was immaculate, had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and a nice choice. We had our own bathroom and were given a key to come and go from the building."

"There is a river running behind the hotel which is nice. Room was good but with no AC can be noisy outside if you keep your window open. Breakfast that was included was great. Free parking across the street. "

"Hotel just yards away from bus terminal , room ensuite , shower was very good , had coffee , tea and kettle as well as TV . Great value for money ,have stayed there before would stay there again . Cooked breakfast included which was very good . "
