"Great location, right in middle of Gion. Close to everything. Short walk to 2 subway stops/lines. Close the shopping district, just across the river. Lots of stores and restaurants close by, small alley ways w local places to eat and shop. Rooms are clean and well appointed. We had adjoining rooms, good space, comfy beds. A bit firm but still comfy, same w pillows. Not the super soft fluffy kind, but Ok for me. Breakfast was good. Small, but lots of choice w some English/American options and...

"The room with the balcony, it has large steel bars making it feel like a cage, there is mold around where the a/c blows out. The hotel is very western and not traditional Japanese at all. There is no coffee or tea maker in the room, downstairs only. The staff is nice but European, great for people who are concerned about the language barrier. It is far from the train station but close to the gion district. I traveled Japan for 25 days and this was one of my least impressive stays."
