"The Inn was beautiful, and the property and surrounding views were lovely and very well maintained. However, I was disappointed by the lack of staff and some of the basic amenities. There was no coffee provided in the rooms, so guests had to go downstairs to the common area, only to find decaf coffee and hot chocolate available. While I truly appreciated the beauty and atmosphere of the property, I feel that a little more attention to guest comfort and hospitality would have made the experience...
"Truly one of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed. The woman serving breakfast (they even had oatmeal and fruit for us vegans + oat milk, and fresh made muffins and an amazing looking breakfast for non-vegans!) was so friendly and kind. Would love to come back and stay again!"
"Excellent facilities and very helpful staff, enjoyed the lake view, fireplace and glamorous sheets. Restaurant on-site was great and breakfast was good. Thanks you"
"Nice to have coffee and muffins an hour before the excellent breakfast choices. We sat by an outdoor fire one night and played board games the other night. A true retreat from the daily grind.
Our two adult children and the two of us slept comfortably in one room that had mutliple beds. Nice to have the option to walk to town as well.
Great time!"
"My boyfriend is a total hotel snob from being a business traveler for years. I was so happy he actually agreed to stay here after seeing how high the ratings were on the property. Well he wasn’t disappointed and we loved our stay. The inn owners Karen and Kevin were very personable and friendly. The breakfast was great, eggs Benedict one day, quiche, homemade granola, ext. The inn itself is just lovely with a great fireplace that we sat at after we came back from dinner with some other guests....
"I was traveling to the area for a wedding at a local resort and spent two great nights at the Colonel Spencer Inn. Hosts Tracy and Jim are kind and respectful and offered to assist with my luggage. I slept very well in the comfortable bed. Even though the weather was less than ideal, it is in a beautiful setting and I want to stay there again. I had two delicious and filling breakfasts and I appreciated the snacks, coffee and tea bar, and beverage fridge filled with water bottles."
"If you are looking for an authentic lodging and dining experience, the Tilton Inn is your place. The owners, staff, and the restaurant chef are top-shelf, friendly, and make for perfect accommodations. Such a breath of fresh air from the white-bread franchise hotel experience. Don't miss it before it's gone!"
"Stayed here for the weekend with my kids to see fall foliage & relax. The campground is amazing with many things to do near by. You do need to bring your own linens and clean up after yourself. The cabin wasn’t to clean when we got there but I had cleaning supplies on hand so it wasn’t an issue for me. The views and private beach in front of our cabin was breathtaking. Can also rent kayaks, paddleboat and canoes there. A lot of activities at the place to entertain everyone"
"Great location, very clean, easy check-in, and the communication process was a piece of cake. Overall, this is a great property and could very easily be a 5-star experience with a little more attention to some of the small details.
A few examples:
- The refrigerator worked fine, but the interior light was hanging loose rather than being properly attached.
- Neither light on the stove worked.
- There was one trash bag, but no extras that we could find. Same with toilet paper, and there wasn't...
