"I stay at the R&F frequently when visiting family back home in Barnstaple.
The hotel is lovely and staff fantastic and I truly don’t have any issues at all.
My recent stay however was totally ruined by the position/allocation of the room, which I stress is nobody’s fault, however I did experience a terrible night of deprived sleep which isn’t acceptable.

"Check in was easy, friendly staff, room decor was lovely, clean bedding. Parking was perfect and surroundings are beautiful. Had a beautiful breakfast too. Only negative was quite a few wood louse running round the bathroom, kept slippers on but may put you off if squeamish."

"Great place on the Cornwall/Devon border, equidistant from the stuff you can do in the Southwest. The food they serve is great, as is the staff I interacted with. An EV charger in the same parking area is very helpful, as well. I was surprised that my single room didn't have a TV. The water pressure and heat when trying to shower were never consistent (but usually okay). While not a comment about this hotel, know that this area doesn't have much for stuff to do. "The room was fine, although for some reason there weren't any hangers in the wardrobe. I was thankful for ice from the bar downstairs (it was another very hot day), and also for the quiet neighbourhood. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again."
"A perfectly acceptable place to stay. I've stayed there many times and some of the rooms are wonderful. Room 12 (that I was in this time) is not one of those rooms! It's small, noisy (yards with dogs outside), the bathroom is basic and the bed is not amazing either. Check-in was poor but there was only one chap on duty in a busy Wetherspoons type pub, so he didn't have that much time (or energy) to give me. All in all, just OK, not amazing."
